Program Description

  • Sheridan College offers Bachelor of  Music Theatre Performance with a duration of 4 years (8 semesters).
  • This course is offered on a full-time basis.
  • Students are considered full-time if they take more than 70% of the required credits or 2/3 of the required courses for their program.
  • Sheridan's new Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance gives students theoretical and practical training in three core disciplines:
    • Acting
    • Singing and 
    • Dance
  • No other performing arts school offers Sheridan's degree of professionalism.
  • They provide have classes in acting, singing and dancing five days a week and Weekly one-on-one tutorials with faculty in acting and singing.
  • The Faculty and student ratio for this program is 1:16.
  • This degree program offers tremendous challenges and rewards, including a career path that might lead to stages in Toronto, Broadway, London and beyond.
  • The musical theatre program puts on six musicals a year in Theatre Sheridan at the Trafalgar Road Campus in Oakville.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Eligible applicants are selected on the basis of previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses).
  • Students have completed an Ontario Secondary School diploma course with 12 grades and 65% on the combined average course.
  • Students completed the English with a grade of 12 and 65% higher.
  • Two semesters of postsecondary education including required courses with a minimum 65% overall average.

English-Language Proficiency Eligibility:

  • Successful completion of one of the following is sufficient to demonstrate English-language proficiency:
  • At least two years of study in English at a recognized college.
  • At least one year of study in English at a recognized university.
  • A one-year post-graduate certificate at a recognized college in English.
