  • Dalhousie University offers MBA in Corporate Residency for a duration of 2 years.

  • The Corporate Residency MBA is unique in its structure, design, and approach to learning. It brings together the needs and interests of employers, students, and faculty.
  • Students can enter this program directly from any undergraduate degree with no work experience required.
    • University has deep relationships with employer partners across the country that gives students the opportunity to start their career in Halifax, Toronto, Calgary, and beyond.
    • Students can accelerate their leadership skills with the Personal and Professional Effectiveness course combined with career coaching from the Management Career Services team.
    • Students get motivated, encouraged, inspired when they study with a small cohort of bright students.
    • Each year, four second-year MBA students have the opportunity to participate in Sandler Training’s 1-year President’s Club business development program and the 1-year Strategic Sales Management program.
    • The MBA program is accredited by AACSB International and CAFCE Accreditation Council.
    • This program also provides the joint MBA/JD program that allows students to obtain both a law degree and a Master of Business Administration degree in 4 years.
    • The student's career begins just 6 months into the program. By the time students enter their residency, they will have been coached and rigorously prepared for this deep immersion into the business world.

    Eligibility & Entry Requirement

    Academic Eligibility:

    • Students must have a 4-year Bachelor’s degree, in any discipline from a recognized Dalhousie university.
    • A Grade Point Average of B (or 3.0) or better in the final two years (20 credits).

    Indian Student Eligibility:

    Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

    • Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
    • Or, completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
    • Or, completed a 3-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.

    The GRE and GMAT score is accepted. Students who wish to be considered for an RSB (Rowe School of Business) entrance scholarship must submit a GMAT and GRE score for a better chance of admission.

    Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.


    Required Document List

    Following are the required document:

    • Online application form and fees: Students have to fill the online form and submit the application fees. 
    • Resume: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work and/or volunteer experience.
    • Two Professional References: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.
    • Personal Statement: It should include a brief overview of themselves, strengths and any work experience and/or education students have.
    • Transcripts: Students have to submit transcripts from all universities/colleges attended, World Education Services Assessments, and English Language Proficiency test scores 
    • Statement of Intent: Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
    • Confirmation of Employment Form:  Students must be emailed as an attachment by applicant or referee. 
    • Proof of name change: Required only if name discrepancies exist between transcripts/assessments/test scores and other application documents.  Examples of proof: Marriage/divorce certificates, 2 copies of government-issued ID that include a previous and current name and date of birth.
    • ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.

    VISA & Work Study

    VISA

    • Students are required to get a study visa to study in Canada.
    • They may also need a Temporary Resident VISA (TRV) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
    • The cost of the study visa is 112 USD and it is valid for the length of the study program, plus an extra 90 days.
    • At the time of VISA application, students need to provide various documents:

    Work Study

    Students must have a work-study visa to work in Canada.

    • On-Campus Work: Students enrolled full time are eligible to work on-campus. Students can work no more than 10-15 hours per week.
    • Off-Campus Work: Students who are continually enrolled full time at Dalhousie University are eligible to work off-campus. Students can work 20 hours a week or full time during a scheduled break.
    • Co-Op Work Visa: If students are required to work as an integral part of the studies or enrolled in a co-op program, they may be permitted to work off-campus full time. Students will need a co-op work visa.
