Campus and Residential Facilities

The college houses academic buildings and has its own parking facility.  The west wing of the college has the Registrar's Office and Student Support Services. The university also has a Chaplain’s office in the Administration wing and Writing Services Centre in the Silcox Library Mezzanine.

Housing Plans

The college houses three dormitory halls. Housing approximately 98 residents, Hellmuth Hall is a co-ed residence.

Housing 185 Huron first year and upper year students, O'Neil Ridley is another co-ed dormitory. Southwest Residence is a suite-style residence.

Huron also has five houses on campus, exclusively available as upper year student housing. Out of these 5, three are located on campus and two are on Western Road.

  • First year students are guaranteed a single room. One can choose their own room style.
  • Special room preference given to Hellmuth scholarship holders
  • Group dinners, games and intramural sports organized at every floor

Programs Offered at Huron University College

Students can apply for courses under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Theology. One of the key features as mentioned earlier, are the intentional small class sizes. This promotes student teacher interaction and also provides students, a better chance at learning and making friends.

  • Faculty of Arts and Social Science offers about 63 programs under eleven departments and centers. These programs encourage both community based and skill based learning.

Pre-Requisites

  • Senior Matriculation English (Academic)
  • OUAC 105 form for all other applicants.
  • Satisfactory English Language Proficiency Tests Score. Here is the minimum score, one must obtain for admission.

MELAB85, with no less than 80 on any section
IELTS6.5, with no less than 6.0 on any section

  • Students applying for any particular scholarship will have to fill the forms for scholarships at http://www.huronuc.ca/FS/MoneyMatters/Scholarships
  • Required transcripts as a proof of prior education. For international students, this will be done as per their education system.

Admission forms are to be filled online. Transcripts can be sent directly to the administrative office at the university college. Once you have submitted your application form, submit the supporting documents to the below mentioned address.

  1. Submit your Application
  • Fill in your application and submit the same by visiting the official website of Ontario Universities’ Application (www.ouac.ca).  If one is facing any difficulty in the same, they can simply send the filled in application form as  an attachment to  huron@uwo.ca
  • Students must also fill in any additional forms related to scholarships/ bursaries.
  • Fill in the OUAC 105 form. Students will find Huron within Western University.

As mentioned earlier, students will have to submit their transcripts as a proof or prior education. They are to be sent directly to Huron's Admission's Office.

To accept Huron's Offer of Admission online, please confirm on your OUAC account.

Application Fee

Application fee is CAD 50. This is to be paid via credit card. No other means of payment is accepted. The fee is non-refundable.

What after you get admission?

  • All international students must possess a study permit to study in Canada. Students can apply for the same, once they receive an offer of admission from the university college.
  • Fill in the residence application forms and submit the required deposit before the deadline. Tentative month for the deadline is starting week of June

Scholarship

The college guarantees scholarship to any Canadian secondary school applicant with a final admission above 80% or higher.

Bursary

Students must be citizens of Canada or permanent residents, registered in a full or part-time program and demonstrate genuine financial need. The final decision will be made by the authorities after analyzing and assessing the costs of the program that students are registered in, as well as any available resources.

In case a student is the first in his/her family to receive post-secondary education, then he/ she will have to fill in Ontario First Generation Bursary form.

Students can apply for the same anytime, when the need arises. There is no deadline.

Awards

Master’s Degree Scholarships: Awards and Prizes are awarded by the Faculty of Theology Committee. A total of 13 prizes are awarded with price ranging from CAD  150- CAD  3,000.

Working on- campus

Students are given a chance to work at Huron University College. Students can visit the official website of the college and apply for their desired job positions after matching the eligibility criteria.

Working Off- Campus

As per a new program created by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, 20 hours per week (during the academic term, and 40 hours per week during semester break) has been set as duration of work for students who are studying full time and working off-campus.
