Program Description

  • International Bachelor of Business Administration at York University’s faculty Schulich School of Business is offered as a 4-year teaching program.
  • This BBA program at York University is offered on a full-time and Honours basis. The program begins in Fall Term.

Graduation Requirements:

  • The successful completion of 120.00 credits of university-level study, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.00.
  • The completion of specific courses within the required 120.00 credits listed in the Curriculum Overview Charts section of the Undergraduate Academic Handbook.
  • Students with a cumulative GPA of 7.50 or above will be awarded their degree “with distinction” (this will appear on both the transcript and the degree parchment).
  • Fourth-year BBA and iBBA students who have completed the required 120.00 credits to graduate from the program by the end of the Winter term of their 4th year of study will be required to convocate in the Spring.
  • Courses taken in the summer following Year 4 will not be counted towards the degree requirements or used to calculate the overall GPA.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for admission in this BBA program at Schulich School of Business, Ontario high school applicants must complete *ENG4U, *MHF4U, and MCV4U or MDM4U as part of their top six grade 12 courses.
  • A minimum of 70% in ENG4U and MHF4U is required. No more than two 4M courses will be considered for admission.

Others:

  • Current York students who have completed the required prerequisite courses may be considered for admission to Year 2 of the BBA or iBBA program.

Supplementary application:

  • The supplementary application is used to provide the admissions team with a better understanding of the complete student.
  • While academic performance is important, Schulich is looking for well-rounded students who can also demonstrate leadership potential, teamwork experience, resilience, and empathy towards others.

Indian Student Eligibility:

  • Completion of one of the following:
    • All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
    • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
    • Indian School Certificate (ISC)
    • Intermediate Examination Certificate
    • Pre-University Examination Certificate
  •  Grade XII math (minimum grade of 55% required)
    •  A supplementary application (including leadership profile, video interview, and timed writing exercise) is also required by February 5, 2020, for guaranteed consideration of this BBA program.

    Submission of GMAT scores is compulsory for this program, however, it is recommended to submit a minimum GMAT-550 for better a chance of admission.

    Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

    • Sample of written work: Student has to write something interesting as their sample essay in the application form.
    • Statement of Interest: Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
    • Two confidential letters of recommendation: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.
    • Proof that students have enough money to support themselves during their stay in Canada.
    • Letters of reference or any other documents the visa office tell students to bring.

    VISA & Work Study

    VISA

    • A Student VISA authorizes students to study in Canada legally.
    • International students will receive their Study Permits in the form of a paper document which will usually be attached to the passport at the Canadian port of entry.
    • Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs), commonly called Entry Visas, are to be obtained by foreign nationals who require visas to enter Canada, while Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) allows foreign nationals from visa-exempted countries to enter Canada without a visa.

    Work Study

    Eligibility:

    • The student must have a valid study permit for the period of employment.
    • He/She should meet the specific skills and experience requirements set by the sponsoring department.

    Restrictions:

    • All students are permitted to accept one Work-Study position only per program period.
    • Non-degree students (i.e. visiting students, students on a LOP) are not eligible for Work-Study.
    • Students are not eligible to hold a work-study position in the same term in which they are holding an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (or equivalent).
