Queen’s University, located in Ontario, received 37,066 freshman applications in 2017. UG applications for 2017 increased by 9.1% and PG applications increased by 7.7 for the 2017-2018 term. The student population, in 2016-17, at the university had 2,946 international applicants from around 114 countries.

  • International applicants can apply online through the OUAC (Ontario Universities Application Center).
  • International UG applicants are required to submit the 105F application through OUAC. However, indigenous UG applicants are required to submit 105D applications.
  • The admission deadlines for all the UG applicants is February 1 2019.
  • Conditional admissions are available for international applicants, if failed to fulfill ELP requirements.

Admission Requirements for International Applicants

The general requirements and admissions process for international applicants is as follows:

  • Official Transcripts
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Personal statement essay.
    • For commerce programs, it is mandatory to submit the PSE. however, for other programs university highly recommends the submission of PSE.
  • Departmental Requirements- Applicants are required to submit portfolios for fine arts courses. For music courses, applicants are required to give an audition.
  • Applicants must have completed specific & relevant coursework at high school levels.

Conditional Admissions

International applicants that do not fulfill the above mentioned ELP requirements are offered conditional admission through QBridge Pathway courses.

  • For entry in the academic programs with IELTS- 5.5, TOEFL- 58, and CAEL-5, applicants must score
    • A- in ESLA 140 (Advance level)
    • B in ESLA 150 (University Preparatory Level).
  • If an applicant has studied for 1-year at an institute with English as the official medium of instruction, within a 12-month period prior to the month of application, can exempt from ELP requirements.

Visa Process for International Applicants

  • International applicants are required to apply from the Canadian Study Permit.
  • The permit will only be issued for a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
  • Applicants need to provide the following documents to receive the permit:
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Sponsor letter, if applicable
    • Acceptance letter
  • After acceptance, a port of entry Introduction letter is given to applicants which is to be presented at the airport at the time of arrival.
  • The students will then be given the study permit to study in Canada.

Queen’s offers more than 80 programs for graduates in various disciplines and areas. Some courses have specific additional requirements. Graduate Diploma

The university offers applicants with a graduate diploma in Business. Two types of applicants can apply for this course-

  1. Applicants in their last year of UG studies
  2. Applicants who have recently completed their graduate degree.
