Conestoga College: Best for Indian Students

    BT
    8.7 /10

I choose this college to pursue my education because of it's affordable student-friendly environment and the career opportunities that it'll offer me after I graduate from here. The application process was also quite easy as I applied through the online portal and paid an application fee of $100.

    Course Curriculum :

The program has the flexibility of multiple start dates and is available in different formats, some allow us to complete our program in a shorter period of time than two years. The main concepts that covered under the program are Business communications, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, operations and human resource management, and Computer applications in business.

    Exams :

I wanted to study business and the degree program was out of my budget, so I decided to opt for a diploma program in business. To fulfil the requirements, I submitted my IELTS score of 6 along with my high school GPA of 7.5 and my personal and finance documents. I also had to go through a personal interview.

    Placement :

There is a portal named MyCareer that post jobs targeting us (Students of Conestoga) accessing services through the Career Centre. Other than this, the Career Center of our college also provides support for our specific hiring and training needs. We most get job opportunities in the city of Ontario.

    Events :

I used to attend all the events here, they were a part of our student experience and through these events, I got to learn a lot!

    Fees :

For my diploma program of 2-years, I had to pay $9400 annually tuition, so, $19000 for the tuition of full program. Other than this, on annual basis, I also had to pay $400 for the books, and $1000 for the phone. Financial assistance was available in the form of scholarships, loans, and bursaries.

    Faculty :

They were amazing! My faculty members used different and innovative teaching techniques to make us understand the topics better. The small class size also helped in engaging with the faculty members on better level.

    Hostel :

It was only a 2-year program, so I decided to live at the off-campus residence as I wanted to have a taste of real world before entering that world completely. Also, off-campus accommodation was quite affordable as compared to the other options. Living off-campus helped me make a lot of friend and explore a lot of places. My place was around 20 mins away from my college, so I used to take a bus everyday, which cost me $100 per month. Other than this, my monthly rent was $650 and my food expense was $200.
