Great experience

    6.7 /10

My college was involved in creating opportunities for us to feel supported, safe, included in curriculum, classrooms, and student life is important to them. Providing opportunities for me to share my culture and tradition is an excellent way for me to learn as well. My GPA was 6. I had to submit a common application form.

    Course Curriculum :

This two-semester program exposed me to a combination of drawing, painting, sculpture, creative writing, and an overview of art history. The Fine Arts certificate program provides the opportunity to explore my creative side. I took required courses that give them an overview of history, philosophy, and practice.

    Exams :

The program was focusing on easing the transition and building relationships with Indigenous students into post-secondary. They have SD5 Indigenous student activities often being hosted at the Aboriginal Gathering Place. I was required to submit my IELTS score of 7. The documents required were my official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and a copy of my passport.

    Placement :

In partnership with KNC Education and Employment, they host career fairs. Students from high school and middle school are able to learn about various program areas to get an interactive and experiential opportunity to explore various education and career pathways.

    Events :

Prior to the Convocation Ceremony, the College hosts an annual Honouring Ceremony for all of the Indigenous students which includes a feast and a traditional honoring ceremony led by Ktunaxa Nation leaders and Elders to honor their educational successes.

    Faculty :

The teachers provided me with peer-to-peer support and guidance during their first year at the College of the Rockies. The objective of this program is to provide Mentees with various skills and support to help me be successful in my educational goals.

    Hostel :

Space in the Homestay Program and Student Residence is limited. You should submit your Homestay or Student Residence application as soon as you have received your offer of admission to the College. If I plan to live in off-campus housing, I needed to arrange short-term accommodations at a local hotel or motel upon my arrival and allow myself one to two weeks to secure long-term housing. My living expenses were around $6000.
