Indian Student Review for Columbia College
My friend referred me to this college. Also, the fees are less compare to other schools and universities. Also, there is a choice to choose courses and the teaching system is good. Also, most of the punjabi students attend this college.
It is very easy to understand the curriculum of each course. You can choose the course as you wish. But you must meet the criteria and requirements of diploma or degree. Also, there are different levels for each subject.
I took IELTS to get admission to Columbia College. My IELTS scores were 6.5. No university exam test required to take admissions here.
The exam is taken at the end of the term. They weight 30-40% of all courses. And students are given a schedule 1 month before the exams. Exams are taken in normal classrooms. And there are two teachers in each classroom for supervision.
The faculty is good. There are volunteers and councilors to help. You can ask any question regarding immigration, study, replacements in universities etcetera.
Fees were 500 dollars per credit before and it has increased to 520 dollars per credit. You have to pay full fees before taking the subject. Your registration can not be processed before you pay full fees. There are 30 dollars activity charges as well.
I am living with my friends. We are owning a rented basement. I live off campus. My college is in Vancouver and I am living in Surrey. It is a two bedroom basement with accessible transit and grocery services.
I don’t think there is any job opportunity regarded in the courses. You have to complete further study for taking job opportunities. But you can volunteer in college services. Also, if you want to serve as a volunteer you need to register first.
There is no internship opportunity provided to students. It is good for only students who want to complete their studies for some purpose. But never expect anything from them. You can’t get any job based on your studies. The only computer program can help.
No, I didn’t apply for any scholarship. To get scholarships you need a higher GPA. Higher GPA Averages from3.0-4.7
Monthly Expense : $200 - $500
