Studying in a Canadian university is like a dream come true. I have come to know about this university through my friend who has already completed his bachelor's from this university. I have also applied in 3-4 colleges along with the University of Winnipeg. But I got an offer letter from my desired university within a week. I have done my 12th in Non-Medical stream and scored 90% marks in every subject.
This program-oriented course is meant to strengthen my communication skills, experience group dynamics, and foster self-confidence. It is a 4-year major course that includes the development of a team-based software project for a local IT organization. This program is helping me to develop analytical thinking and applied skills by blending theoretical and practical aspects of computer science.
In order to take admission to the university, I had to appear for the English test to prove my language proficiency. I took the IELTS Academic exam and cleared it with an overall 7 band score. Other than this English language proficiency test there was no specific entrance requirement that I need to clear. But some of the documents like transcripts, letters of recommendation, and schooling records were submitted by me.
Being an international student, studying a full-time course, and holding a valid work permit, I can work on-campus as well as off-campus. But due to my full-time course, I could only work 20 hours per week. And I was paid on a weekly basis.
As I am still doing my studies, I cannot say anything about the placement criteria. But, according to the seniors, 90% of students got a job after the completion of their studies. The university has numerous career opportunities so, I consider that I too will get it.
I paid a total of $16373 as a tuition fee for my first year. The university also offers various scholarship options to but for that I had to pay the full amount for the first year's tuition fee. My overall living expenses are around $1500 - $2000. Scholarships can be availed on the basis of merit and talent.
Not only just the education, but the university faculty also helps us to strengthen our communication skills, enhance self-confidence, and experience group dynamics. The University faculty also guide us to develop analytical thinking and applied skills in the best possible way so that we could remember for a longer period of time.
Some of my classmates are already living off-campus so, I decided to stay with them. For living there I paid an amount of $10000 per semester. The charges included each and every expense such as living rent, food charges, grocery expenses, and transportation expenses.
