University of Hearst
Excellent faculty and placement
I found this college randomly through an online advertisement and then I looked it up on the internet. A GPA of 8.5 in my bachelor's degree and 90% in my high school provided much aid to get through the admission process. An application fee of $150 dollars was paid by me along with an evaluation fee of around $100 as I submitted my application through OUAC.
My course provided me much-needed knowledge about the human brain and its workings. It has helped me figure out various reasons for human behaviors and detect the cause and effect relationship between them. The curriculum is designed to make us understand with perfection human psychology and makes us field ready.
I have always been fascinated with human behavior and endeavors. I joined this college because it provided exactly what I was looking for. I submitted my TOEFL test score of 700 to prove my language proficiency along with an SAT score of 1400 to prove my eligibility. I also had to take an additional university test LANG 1006 to prove my language proficiency. Apart from this, my language and science scores of high school helped me get a niche in the admission procedure.
The exam structure is simple and effective. The bachelor's program for psychology is divided into 6 modules for psychology, 2 language papers, and 16 elective courses. The structure helps us to diversify our knowledge bag and test our ability to multitask.
The faculty of our college have a Ph.D. degree and some of them are Graduate Assistants with profound knowledge. The professors have cleared my each and every doubt and being highly knowledgeable professionals in the field provide their own advice and insights while teaching. They have helped me to open my mind to gather information not only from the prescribed curriculum but also from my surroundings.
I paid around $5000 for my tuition and fees. I had also applied for Mgr. Louis-Levesque Scholarship ($ 3,000) during the admission procedure and the scholarship helped me a great deal with covering my college expenses. I also paid around $1000 for my books and supplies. Miscellaneous costs were also amounted to around $1500.
I chose campus accommodations as the rooms were available at a decent rental fee. I paid around $500 for my room and around $200 for meals. The housing facility is situated at a distance of 20 minutes from the college. The rooms are clean, spacious also has a drawing room and a kitchen.
Job opportunities from my college are more than excellent. Students are offered placements and job offers immediately after graduation and get placed at rather high positions being new on the field. The visiting companies in our college are- Hearst Credit Union, Multicultural center of Timmins, Clayton Brown Public School, Canadian National Institute for Blind, Lenord newspaper, The Renaissance House, the Green House, etc.
My college Offers interesting internship offers in medical and educational fields. In our college, we can get an internship even after completing a 6- credit score. We can join our professors also for gaining experience.
My college organises an annual college trip known as a study trip. In this trip students get to visit various places and gain knowledge about different cultures and their importance. Cultural diversity is welcomed in hearts of students with the help of such trips. We have already visited Morocco, turkey, central Europe, Ecaudor, Guatamala and many more places. This year interestingly India is on the cards.
I had applied for Mgr. Louis-Levesque Scholarship ($ 3,000) during my admission procedure which is offered by the college itself. The eligibility criteria to avail of this scholarship are to score above 85%.
