I wanted to study at Alexander College ever since I heard about it at a college fair in my city. After going through the official website, I decided to apply. I studied commerce in high school and scored decent scores. I had paid $200 for the application fee as I applied online.
The program offered multi-disciplinary knowledge in the fields of economics, management, accounting and statistical analysis and it also help us develop their critical thinking and research skills. The program also enabled us to explore economic theory and applications in conjunctions with topics related to commerce.
I wanted to study business as I was always passionate about establishing a business of mine and in order to understand how the business works, the requirements, etc, I wanted to take up a course in Associate of Arts in Business. In order to obtain admission at Alexander College, I had submitted my official high school marks transcripts. I had also submitted my IELTS score of 7 as proof of English proficiency along with my general application.
Various positions available to us after graduation are accounting assistant, administrative assistant, bank teller, bookkeeping assistant, human resource assistant, etc. For providing us with the best opportunity, the college actively helped us in guiding and helping us choose our careers.
There were several events, both academic and non-academic that were hosted by our university for us. Events like ITM workshops, the weekly church service, events to let us know life after college, conferences, seminars, guest lectures, various sports events, etc were hosted.
For the Associate of Arts degree, I had paid a tuition fee of $550 per credit. The additional fees that I had paid were the student association fee and activity fee of $20 per term, lab fee of $30 (whenever applicable), etc. I had not applied for any scholarship since I did not meet the eligibility criteria. Many scholarships are available to us.
Our professors were with terminal degrees in their fields. The professors helped us gain knowledge in skills like written and oral communication, mathematical and scientific reasoning, research and evaluative skills, collaborative and team-based experience, etc.
I stayed in an apartment near the college for which I had paid $800 per month for a one BHK flat. The meal and dining charges were $500-$1000 a month. My personal expenses were $500 a month and there were no major challenges that I had faced except for adjusting to the climate and food.
