DCAC Admissions

Admissions to all courses are merit-based. Eligible candidates can apply online at the Delhi University website. The steps to apply are mentioned below.

How to Apply?

Visit the official website of DU.
Register and create their login credentials.
The applicants have to register to choose the college and courses of their choice.
After successful registration, the candidates must click on the “Apply Now” button.
Female applicants can choose to apply for NCWEB.
Fill all the eight sections of the application form correctly.
The candidates need to upload the necessary documents.
Review the application form and proceed to make the payment.
Pay the application fee through any electronic payment gateway, viz. Net Banking/ Credit/ Debit card.

Documents required

The applicants shall be required to produce following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of admission:

Copy of the Online University Registration Form.
A copy of Aadhar Card.
Class X Certificate indicating the Date of Birth and Parents’ names.
Class X Marks-Sheet.
Class XII Marks-Sheet.
Class XII Provisional Certificate/ Original Certificate.
Caste Certificate
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate
EWS Certificate st March 2019 certifying that the applicant can claim reservation under this category.
At least four passport size self-attested photographs.

DCAC Facilities

Some of the facilities provided by the college include:

Library: The college library is fully automated with a wide-ranging collection of over 56538 books of various disciplines. It subscribes to 15 newspapers and 30 journals/ periodicals and has a rich collection of various reference sources such as Dictionaries, Yearbooks, etc. It also provides access to E-resources.
Computer Lab: DCAC has four computer labs equipped with servers, printers, desktop machines, laptops, LCD projectors, and scanners of the latest configuration. There are more than one hundred desktops interconnected in a Local Area Network with a central server system. The campus is also Wi-Fi enabled.
Sports: The college boasts of a well maintained and spacious sports ground with various sports facilities like synthetic Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Table Tennis Room, Carom and Chess Room, and Mini Football Court, etc. There is also an open-air gymnasium being built in the sports ground.

All the members are highly qualified in their respective fields with most of them having a Ph.D. degree. They are well-experienced teachers. Ques. Is there any hostel facility in DCAC?

Ans. No, there is no hostel facility in the college. However, there are a lot of PGs, student hostels, and flats available for students near the college.

Ques. Can I get admission in Economics Honours if I have not studied Economics in 10 + 2?

Ans. Yes, but there will be a reduction of 1% marks from your aggregate percentage. You also must have Mathematics as one of the best four subjects. Hence, the chances are harder seeing as admissions are based on merit.

Ques. What subjects are compulsory for admission in B.Com Honors at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce?

Ans. Out of the best four subjects, one should be a language(English/Hindi) and the other three should be a combination of only any of the following: Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics, and Business Studies/ Commerce.

Ans. Shaheed Bhagat Singh and DCAC offer a BA in Economics. Whereas, Symbiosis School of Economics offers a BSc (Hons.) in Economics. SBSC is ranked 151 out of 200 top colleges in India by NIRF. DCAC is ranked 31 out of 120 in Arts by India Today. NIRF has ranked SSE in the 20th position in India. Admission: All the colleges take admission based on merit however, the major difference lies between their cut-offs, which vary every year. For the year 2019, the cut off for Shaheed Bhagat Singh and DCAC went as high as 96% for BA Economics. Institute SBSC DCAC SSE Course Fee 20,155/- 27,285/- 2.02 lakhs Placements: SBSC- Around 40% of students get placed at SBSC, with an average package of 5-7 LPA. The highest salary package received by the students is 16 LPA. Top recruiters at the institute are Deloitte, Mc Kinsey, TresVista, DE Shaw, etc. DCAC- The placement rate at DCAC is 35%. Students get placed in companies like Google, Ernst, and Young, Barclays, Capital-IQ, Genpact, IBM, ICICI Prudential, etc. The average CTC is 3 LPA. I selected this college for my admission because of the kind of crowd which includes the staff, seniors and the students. The people in this college are very friendly and nice. Everything is good apart from the infrastructure of the college. The campus is small and not that maintained. I got to know about this college from my cousin. After his advice, I decided to take admission in this college. I was in Dyal Singh College before. In the 6th list, I transferred from DSC to DCAC.

Placements in DCAC are pretty decent. The students of the flagship course B.Com(Hons) are among the most placed candidates. Placement drives are conducted by DU centrally in which the students of DCAC have a little advantage due to the high cut off of the college (nearly 96%). The bad aspect according to me is the infrastructure of the college, it's not good and the campus is also quite small. The admission procedure is quite easy. Get your documents verified after you met the cut-off, pay the fee, and it's done. The faculty here is good, even some of them are academic book writers which we study generally.

It was situated in delhi and its affiliation from delhi university. Also the crowd is decent and my cutoff matches with the college cutoff so i took admission without wastinh tym. Also it is one of the best college in south campus.

The good result and better faculty.the infrastructure of the college is great and the grounds and sports faculty is also very great which attracts students to the college. library is another factor which attracts people to the college.fest which are organised by the college are very famous and last year Mahinder butlar was invited to the college and thus which makes the college more attractive and at the end it is a college of delhi university which matters the most as getting admission to Delhi University is dream of many and getting admission to its college is very happy thing.

In dcac I was found lots of good people, but its college campus is a small campus but I believe that good people are important in your college not the size of the campus. There is a very simple process of admission to the campus. You just carry your all documents.first will go to the auditorium of the college and your maximum work is done in one place and the most important thing you will get the volunteers of NSS who will help you in your documentation process.
