Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (Dr AIT), Bangalore is an autonomous engineering institute founded by Late Shri M H Jayaprakash Narayan in the year 1980. The institute is governed by Panchajanya Vidya Peetha Welfare Trust. It is among 15 institutes that receive funds from World Bank under TEQIP. The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (AIT) is ranked 163rd by NIRF engineering 2020 ranking and provides nearly 90% placements every year and boasts of having many experienced faculties in all sectors.  MAIT ranks 17th among the best engineering colleges in India as per the Dataquest ranking. It provides 95% placements and maintains an excellent track record of it every year.  BVP ranks 62 among the top universities by NIRF Ranking 2020 and always provides 100% placements. Admission Process AIT: The primary eligibility criteria is a minimum of 45% marks in 10+2. The final selection of the candidates depends on the KCET/COMEDK UGET test scores. MAIT: The primary eligibility criteria is a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2. The final selection of the candidates depends on the JEE Main scores. BVP: The eligibility criteria is a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2. Initially, when the college started it only had three courses i.e. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering course, CSE is one of the oldest courses in this college. The faculty and the department are well-qualified and have years of experience in teaching. Admission: The candidate should have passed class 12th with at least 45% of marks with any recognized board. The candidate should also appear for the KCET Examination or COMEDK UGET in order to seek admission for BE CSE. In 2019 the required cutoff for CSE was 6953(KCET), and 26777(COMEDK UGET). Faculty: Teachers who are in college are highly qualified. They have immense knowledge about the course. Most of the faculty members have their PhDs and are well-experienced.     A college is a good place for all those who want to avail an engineering degree from a good college. The college is a good one. If you are SC or ST, the college is the perfect place for you. You can avail the least fees. You can have six books per semester from the library. You can keep them for the whole master. The placements are good you can be placed in some companies. But there is some strange set up wherein you need to pay money to the college if you are placed. That really has to be overcome. The hostels are good.
