Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private engineering institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1949 by C. Rajam. The institute is one of the 4 constituents of Anna University but in the year 1978, it was merged in Anna University. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Madras Institute of Technology offers study in undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses in multiple disciplines. It is the 1st institute in India to offer postgraduate (PG) courses in mechatronics and avionics.
