Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private engineering institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1949 by C. Rajam. The institute is one of the 4 constituents of Anna University but in the year 1978, it was merged in Anna University. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 

Madras Institute of Technology offers study in undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses in multiple disciplines. It is the 1st institute in India to offer postgraduate (PG) courses in mechatronics and avionics. MIT has received many awards which comprise an award by Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) and an award for the Best Overall Performance in 1999.

Ans. All the programs in Electronics and Instrumentation are accredited by NAAC and NBA. The avant-garde laboratories are DST-FIST, DST-PURSE, or TEQIP funded. The department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering was recognized by AICTE as MINOR-QIP for offering Ph.D./PG programs. SASTRA has eight colleges, two centers, and a distance education directorate providing science, engineering, medicine, law, and management undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. Admission process at MIT Chennai & SASTRA University For admission into B.E/B. Tech of MIT Chennai, students will have to obtain a minimum of 50% in 10+2 with PCM as compulsory subjects and must appear for the TANCET entrance test. Based on the JEE Main level, 70 percent of the total seats are filled for B.Tech admissions, and 30 percent rest based on Class 12 merit in SASTRA. Students with 50% in B.E/B. Tech and having a relevant GATE score can apply for M.Tech programs at both universities. Ans. Anna University holds over 13 constituent schools and 593 associated schools. MIT is a member of Anna University and has won various awards that include an award from the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE). COEP is an autonomous institute and is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University with 725 and 342 students in the UG and PG level courses. Jadavpur University is a member of the Association of Universities of India (AIU) and has been accredited with Grade 'A' by NAAC. Admission Process: Anna University and MIT Chennai: Students who obtained a minimum of 50% in PCM in 10+2 can apply for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions(TNEA) for undergraduate admissions at MIT Chennai and Anna University. For the B.Arch program, students will have to sit for the NATA entrance exam and must obtain a minimum of 50% in PCM in 10+2 Bachelor’s students with 50% marks can apply for M.Tech programs, given that they have a relevant TANCET/GATE score and is required by most universities.
