Diploma in Hearing, Language and Speech (DHLS)25 The All India Institute of Speech and Hearing was funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It was established in 1966 as an autonomous institute. The college is Assessed and Accredited by NAAC with A grade and also it is recognized by WHO.
  • Aim : To impart professional training, render clinical services, conduct research and educate the public on issues related to communication disorders such as hearing impairment, mental retardation, voice, fluency and phonological and language disorders. 
  • It also provides preschool trainings and short term trainings.

AIISH Admission Eligibility

  • B.Ed. Sp. Ed.(HI)] is open to candidates with any degree by the University of Mysore or any other equivalent University 
  • A minimum of 50% of the aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying examination.
  • 30 years of age on July 1st of the academic year in which admission is sought are eligible for admission.

Mode of Selection

  • Selection is on merit basis.
  • The marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be considered for selection of candidates.

AIISH PG Diploma

The courses will prepare students to undertake interdisciplinary research in the areas of speech, language and cognition. Following about the same is given below

AIISH Admission Eligibility

  • B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / BASLP degree graduate from the University of Mysore or any other equivalent University, 
  • An average of not less than 50% of the marks and approved by RCI are eligible for admission.

  • The total intake is 36 and the duration is 2 yrs per course

Mode of Selection

  • An entrance examination based on the B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / BASLP syllabus will be conducted at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Manasagangothri, Mysore for the selection of candidates.
  • Admission is on merit basis
  • 100 questions are to be answered within 90 mins of duration.
  • Negative marking of 0.45 is also there for every wrong answer.

AIISH PH.D Courses

The course aims at increasing the quality and quantity of research in the area of Audiology and Hearing Sciences. The faculty of AIISH is recognized by the University of Mysore under Audiology and Hearing Sciences. The courses are tabulated below.

Eligibility

  • M.Sc.(Aud)/M.Sc.(Sp. & Hg.) / MASLP degree holders from the University of Mysore or any other equivalent University
  • A min of 55% (50% in case of SC/ST) marks are eligible for the course.
  • One year work / research experience after M.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.)/M.Sc. (Aud)/ MASLP is required.

Mode of Selection

  • An entrance examination conducted by the University of Mysore is a must.
  • The qualified candidates will go through a process of interview.
  • The candidates are governed by the rules and regulations of AIISH Fellowship.
  • The candidates have to undergo a 16 week course work stipulated by the University of Mysore and qualify the examination before registering for the Ph.D course.
