Placement Experience :

Placements are comparable with the top IIMs in the country. You can find the placement reports on InsideIIM, College Dunia and many such portals. Students get a 100% placement and profiles are offered for all the domains - Finance, Marketing, Operations, IT, etc.

Remarks :

Good Placements, Good Student Group, Great Legacy and Good Return on Investment. It is a student-run campus in many ways and a lot of the activities are managed by students. The only bad aspect of the college is its campus size and lack of hostel facilities.

Placement Experience :

The placements at FMS Delhi is conducted in two stages, i.e, Lateral and Final placement phase in which FMS recorded 100% placements wherein 84 companies provided 228 placement offers to the students. This year, the institute has witnessed a slight rise in the salary packages where the average salary went up to INR. 26.4 LPA in 2021 from INR. 25.6 LPA in 2020 last year. The highest CTC was recorded at INR 58.8 LPA and the average CTC stood at INR 26.4 LPA.

Remarks :

Good: One of the premiere and prominent institute, 100% Placements records, Global Rankings, Sustainable Student Environment, Great Senior and Junior relationship and Merit based admissions, International collaborations with more 7 management institutes. Bad: Competency, Partiality, and Pressures. Admission process: Admissions at FMS Delhi is done based on candidates performance in various parameters such as CAT scores, Marks secured in 10th and 12th, Extempore, Group Discussions, followed by the personal interview process. Students must meet the requisite FMS cutoff to be eligible for admissions into MBA.

Placement Experience :

1st semester: Summer placements within first two months itself. First, sem is the most hectic. Final and Lateral placements: usually after the 3rd semester. Highest Package was around 58 Lakh with average CTC of 25 Lakh. Summer placements average at around 1.2 Lakh per month (2.4 Lakh for the two-month duration).

Remarks :

Top-ranked MBA college in India with excellent ROI, purely merit-based admission process, you get to study from the top professors in the country with the best peer group as a batch. A student managed campus experiences prepare for the corporate experience very well. It's a unique MBA college where there is actual teamwork that is absolutely rare in any MBA college in the world, not Man eat mat world that is a trademark of every other MBA colleges.

Placement Experience :

Placement of FMS is like the cherry on the top. The quality education is rewarded with great placements as 90% of batch getting annual CTC of 20+ LPA. Good Industrial relations, quality performance of our alums in corporates motivates companies to hire new business leaders from FMS.

Remarks :

One of the Best B.school with an amazing location with a great set of peer group makes it unique. Where B schools are asking for too much fee, FMS provides top-quality education with a minimal fee. There is only one drawback of this college is the limited infrastructure but that is not much of a concern as the MSA, a student body of FMS provides ample opportunity to grow oneself so that one can't much think of infrastructure. The admission process consists of the following steps: Application for CAT, Application for FMS, Shortlist based on CAT Score (40 % for VARC, 30% each for LRDI and Quants). Interview (Extempore, Interview) Final shortlist ( CAT + Interview + 10/12 Percentage).

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course comprises of 4 semesters, 2 semesters each year. This is unlike IIMs which have 6 trimesters in 2 years or 3 trimesters each year. Each semester has 8 courses, thus totalling 32 courses over the span of 4 semesters. The faculty are about 20 in number while the number of full-time MBA students (1st & 2nd year included) is about 500. In addition, there are executive MBA, part-time MBA as well as PhD students. So, the faculty: student ratio is likely to be 1:30 to 1:35. Though there is a relatively smaller number of faculty members, all are top-notch and highly qualified professors holding PhD degrees and the teaching methods are in line with standard practice and sufficient to impart good knowledge of the courses.

Remarks :

The main reason for selecting FMS: Excellent placement statistics historically. Very low fees, at Rs 2.5 lakh for the entire course, which is much lesser than the 23 lakhs charged by the top IIMs. Located at a prime location in Delhi, making it easy to travel to home and back to college. That being said, there were some tradeoffs: The infrastructure is minimal. But considering it is the MBA course, it really does not need playgrounds, labs etc and hence the trade-off is justified for the low fees. No hostel facilities. This is not an issue during Covid19 pandemic learn-from-home situation but can cause inconveniences in commuting when one has to be physically present. MBA being a professional course is mainly pursued as a means of gaining a better career. There is no deficiency caused due to limited infrastructure. So, the extra infrastructure in other top colleges is not worth paying an extra 20 lakh. Overall, FMS is what I found as the best college for MBA due to its ROI & brand.

Placement Experience :

For the Batch of 2018, the average salary was INR 21.1 LPA while the on-campus was INR 54 LPA. Out of a Total 223 students, 215 Students appeared for final placements while 8 students opted for a placement holiday (these students may return to the campus within the next two years and sit for the placements, in case their start-up does not work out well). The average salary for the Top 100 students of the Batch was INR 26 LPA.

Remarks :

FMS offers one the best ROI among B-Schools in India. Considering the average package offered during final placement which is somewhere around 20–25 lac, you’ll be paying 2 lacs fee for two years. This reduces the stress and EMIs burden which is almost impossible to get away with other top management schools. Small batch size attracts multiple offers and almost every student get placed without any hustle.

Remarks :

Experienced faculties, good placements, great ROI. Bad thing:- small campus. Admission process:- Give CAT, Score more than 99%. Then you have to go through the GDPI and Extempore process. Reason of preferring:- Great ROI, Good Alumnus Base.

Placement Experience :

FMS carries its placements track record as a badge of honour. Both the average and median placement is upward of 25 lakhs which consistently places it in the top 3 colleges of the country. Every company that you wish for which hires MBA graduates in India will visit FMS. Hence there is an ocean of opportunity present, the only limiting factor will be the size of your bucket :).

Remarks :

In this times of peril where the future is uncertain, Fms provides the safest opportunity where you can also acquire one of the best MBA education in the country and that too at the lowest cost, hence making it the best college in the country with respect to ROI (Return on Investment).

Placement Experience :

Placements are really good and one of the best in the country. A good number of roles are offered in marketing, consulting, prodman, ops domains. Some of the top recruiters are Bain, BCG, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Media.net, Loreal, Microsoft, Google etc. Almost all of the batch gets placed with good offers. The average package for the 2018-2020 batch was 25.6 LPA.

Remarks :

FMS is one of the top 5 B-schools in India and the best B-school in terms of ROI probably in the world with smaller batch size, the learning experience is better and the peer group is great. The only shortcoming is the small campus but the Delhi University north campus feels like an extension to it and it is beautiful. Being in the heart of the national capital, there are a lot of benefits of studying here.

Ques. What is a better choice, IIM Udaipur or FMS Delhi, and why?

● Top Answer By Laxmi Rout on 20 Feb 21

Ans. Among the above two institutes, FMS Delhi is the better choice, having a number of reasons supporting the cause. The table below gives a brief level of comparison among the two institutes. Particulars FMS Delhi IIM Udaipur NIRF ’20 Rank 10 17 Total Fees (MBA) Rs.1.92 Lakhs Rs.15.5 Lakhs Highest Salary Offered Rs.48 LPA Rs.40 LPA Total number of seats (MBA) 200 325 CAT cut-off percentile 98 90 Some key highlights supporting the choice are listed below: FMS is a stronger brand than IIM Udaipur. Although IIM has its own glamour, the college name makes a difference and Udaipur is considered to be a newer one.  The history of the institute, placement records, alumni base, and present students’ achievements make the fame of an institute. FMS is leading the race in them. In MBA, networking is one of the major reasons for candidates to pursue a degree. The group of peers is the network that is to be carried on for life. Supporting the cause, FMS Delhi is leading over IIM Udaipur in this case too. FMS Delhi has a very strong alumni base, being a much older institute. An older institute with the best possible recruiters creates a strong alumni base.  FMS provides a much better placement than IIM Udaipur because of a bigger brand name, the better quality of students, strong alumni who consist of leaders from recruitment firms that visit the campus, etc. There are several competitions, awards, and scholarships in which FMS gets a chance to rank in those, whereas IIM Udaipur doesn’t.  The fee for FMS is very low, even less than Rs.2 Lakhs in total, as compared to fees in IIMs. There are students who earn even more than the entire fee just by internships, scholarships, competitions, etc throughout the course. Overall, it can be considered that FMS stands much ahead of IIM Udaipur in terms of almost everything that is essential for the students. Almost every ranking authority ranks FMS above IIM Udaipur, based on their criteria.Read more

Ques. I'm a fresher. I have converted FMS Delhi. Got waitlisted at C with a bleak chance. Should I retry CAT for IIM Ahmedabad/Calcutta or stick to FMS?

● Top Answer By Himani Arora on 15 Feb 21

Ans. The question totally depends both on you and your abilities at taking decent risks at hand, such as considering which particular domain you want to enter and if it is anything between Finance or Consulting, then taking a drop will probably make better sense. There other points to take into consideration to: Which is likely to engage you more, is it the low fees and one year you will save or the brand name of a company that might arrive late? Nonetheless, it is always good to understand what your strong points are and if making this decision does not hurt your professional sector side, because both of them are equally at par. You have to consider if it is a good alternative to choose and if it is great enough to go on your profile. Taking all of these into action, what if the next year when you get into a different sector, you fail receiving a call from the company you have aspired for? Understanding these questions personally will affect positively in the long run if utilized properly.  However, joining FMS will keep you on the safer side, and it is because: If your concern lies in terms of peer groups, then it absolutely goes no less than the company you will be part of with the latter. There is another perk that you will receive handy, and it is the low fees that will give you a headstart in terms of having any burden of loans on your mind. Attempting at the CAT will provide just another chance like many others get every year. Since FMS have only countable students, you can expect a higher salary too with almost zero chances of not getting placements (it is considerable based on your performance at PGDM). Nonetheless, even CAT is somewhat uncertain. Also this depends on each individual and their approach towards every potential situation.Read more

Ques. My friend got admission in the FMS and he is still thinking of dropping a year to get admission in the IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore or Calcutta. What should he do?

● Top Answer By Indrita Ganguly on 11 Feb 21

Ans. Well, it entirely depends upon your friend and his professional profile. He can think of a reattempt if: He has a great academic record in X, XII, and graduation  He has a work experience of at least 2 years at present. He is confident of scoring high enough to get a call from IIM A, B, C next year and convert at least one of them successfully. However, he should thoroughly evaluate his chances of being successful in securing his place in either IIM A, B, or C. Also, will his/her profile be good enough next year? With the admission criteria changing every year, it's not advisable to drop an offer from one of the premier non-IIM B- Schools for CAT retake. The cost of dropping a year in terms of money, time, and work experience, in particular, should be thoroughly evaluated.  Drop a year only after careful consideration. Otherwise, it will be wise to join FMS and give MBA a shot.Read more

Ques. I have converted both FMS and IIM Lucknow. My ACADS are below average and I have 3 years of work experience in IT. Which is better for me?

● Top Answer By Sonal Vaid on 02 Feb 21

Ans. IIM Lucknow and FMS both the institute are both reputed B-Schools of India. Discussed below are some factors which may help you compare the two institutes.  Batch size: FMS has a smaller batch. If your academic profile is not good it is reasonable to join an institute with a smaller batch. Return on Investment:  FMS has a lower fee range. But the overall cost of living in a flat if you are not allotted the limited hostel seats offsets the often quoted ROI advantage that FMS is said to have over IIM Lucknow. But in the matter, you can stay in the DU hostel, the ROI difference is not that much between IIM L and FMS. The IIM Brand:  Being one of the older IIMs, second only to the holy trinity A, B, C, IIM L’s brand value is more significant and definitely stands the test of time. While FMS is a GREAT institute, the IIM tag has a global reputation.  Campus Experience:  The chance to live in a full-fledged campus at IIM Lucknow, as half the batch lives in the DU hostel and the other half in flats has an edge over the campus experience for FMS. Reviews from students indicate that IIM Lucknow is the more charming campus to spend time at, both in terms of enjoyment and peer learning.  Placements:  It depends on your choice of specialization.  FMS is great for marketing. Being in NCR several big FMCG come to FMS for recruitment. FMS has various choices of roles on offer.  On the other hand, IIM Lucknow has better consulting placements owing to the consulting companies inclined towards favoring the IIM brand.  For finance, both the colleges are on the same level. IIM L has a slight advantage but it is balanced by the huge batch size. The table shows a brief overview of the institutions. Particulars FMS Delhi IIM Lucknow Median Salary Rs. 25.6 Lakh Rs. 20 Lakh Highest Salary Rs. 58.6 Lakh Rs. 54 Lakh Entrance Criteria CAT CAT/XAT/GMAT Fees Rs. 1.92 Lakh Rs. 19.25 Lakh Hence, although the fears are well-founded, IIM Lucknow will be the potential choice over FMS.Read more

Ques. I have got admission from IIM Lucknow and I am expecting to convert from FMS Delhi. I am aware of the ROI and average salaries. Which one should I choose? What are campus life and job offers like?

● Top Answer By Prerona Datta on 02 Feb 21

Ans. Both the colleges are top-notch, it depends on what the students want from their MBA. IIM Lucknow does give something extra but it comes with the cost of extra fees. It's a misunderstanding that people don't find time at Lucknow, one can easily follow their passions and still end up with an equally good and sometimes more desirable job.  The table shows a brief overview of the institutions. Particulars FMS Delhi IIM Lucknow Median Salary Rs. 25.6 Lakh Rs. 20 Lakh Highest Salary Rs. 58.6 Lakh Rs. 54 Lakh Entrance Criteria CAT CAT/XAT/GMAT Fees Rs. 1.92 Lakh Rs. 19.25 Lakh Campus life: Students mostly hangout with a small group of friends so it doesn't matter if you live in a hostel or a flat. IIM Lucknow offers a richer campus life and more possibilities for making new friends.  If you are involved in sports then you will enjoy a lot at Lucknow as they have excellent sports facilities in DU.  FMS has wonderful parties, parties at IIM Lucknow are decent, but it is really great to listen to college bands at FMS.  Job Offers: FMS has a remarkable advantage in terms of 2-3 extra financial firms, which don't come to recruit at IIM Lucknow. You can talk to a few recent alums from both colleges, to get an idea.  IIM Lucknow has more opportunities in terms of several firms and different profiles, percentage of PPOs. Average salary is always misleading, simply because it is standard for a population. IIM Lucknow has double the batch size of FMS, so not so great opportunities for some people.  FMS does offer great opportunities, but opportunities for the top half of the batch at IIM Lucknow are way better than the overall batch of FMS.  Academics: Academics at IIM Lucknow are more rigorous. You will have many learning opportunities and peer group competition during the two years of your MBA at IIM Lucknow.  If you want a more chilled out approach towards academics then go for FMS.  Brand Name: Between the two institutes, IIM Lucknow is definitely the more recognized owing to the IIM tag.  But, from a plain career point of view, if you are hard-working and don't believe in figures then join IIM Lucknow. You will have greater career opportunities.Read more
