KSOM Admission Dates 2026

Admissions for the 2026-28 MBA batch were anchored by national entrance exams including CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, and GMAT, alongside the institute-level KIITEE Management Test. The application window closed on 31 March 2026 and GD-PI-WAT rounds followed in April 2026. BBA 2026 admissions are ongoing on a rolling basis based on UGAT scores and Class XII merit.

KSOM Courses and Fees

KSOM offers three programme families covering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral-level management education. The MBA is the flagship, with a fully residential structure that bundles hostel, meals, books, and a laptop into the fee.

The MBA specialisations include Capital Market and HR Plus. The Times B-School Survey 2026 ranked KSOM’s BBA programme 2nd in India, making it one of the most recognised BBA offerings in eastern India.

KSOM Admission Process

MBA Full Time

Eligibility for the MBA requires a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognised university. Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. Work experience is not mandatory but is a differentiating factor in shortlisting.

The selection process involves the following stages:

• Step 1: Submit online application with valid CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, or KIITEE Management score
• Step 2: Shortlisting based on composite score (entrance score + academic record)
• Step 3: Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI)
• Step 4: Final merit list based on GD-PI-WAT performance, entrance score, and academic record
• Step 5: Offer letter and fee payment for admission confirmation

The typical CAT cutoff for KSOM admission falls in the 70 to 75 percentile range for General Category candidates. Scores across VARC, DILR, and QA are considered individually during shortlisting.

BBA Full Time

BBA admission requires candidates to have completed Class XII from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Admission is based on UGAT scores or direct merit, and selection is conducted by the institute through a merit-based process. KSOM also accepts KIITEE scores for BBA candidates.

Ph.D. Programme

Candidates applying for the Ph.D. must hold a postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate. Valid scores in NET, GATE, UGC-JRF, or KIITEE qualify for the research aptitude test and interview round. The programme is offered in management and allied disciplines.

KSOM Placements

The 2025 placement season saw a highest CTC of INR 20 LPA, offered by Quinbay Technology. The average CTC stood at INR 9 LPA. The school reported near-100% placement conversion for eligible candidates across the MBA batch.

Top recruiters span banking, consulting, and technology sectors. Confirmed recruiters from recent placement seasons include Deloitte, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, TCS, ICICI Prudential, Mahindra Finance, L&T Finance, Oxford University Press, and Quinbay Technology. KSOM’s KIIT University ecosystem provides access to the broader KIIT placement network, which sees over 160 companies annually for the MBA batch alone.

KSOM Rankings

KSOM is ranked 68th in NIRF Management 2025 with a score of 50.68. The Times B-School Survey 2024 placed KSOM 17th Best B-School in India and ranked its BBA programme 2nd nationally in 2026. Outlook-ICARE India 2024-25 ranked KSOM the 11th Best Private B-School in India.

KSOM holds NBA accreditation for its MBA programme and is a member of AACSB - the only management school in Odisha with AACSB membership. KIIT University holds NAAC A++ accreditation at the institutional level.

KSOM Scholarships

KSOM offers a merit scholarship on tuition fees for high-performing entrance exam scorers. The scholarship applies to the tuition fee component only and does not cover hostel, meals, books, or laptop components of the total fee.

SBI’s KIIT branch offers education loan facilitation for students requiring financial support beyond scholarship coverage. The loan process is initiated online through SBI’s portal in coordination with KSOM’s admissions desk.

KSOM Campus and Infrastructure

KSOM occupies Campus-7 of the KIIT University complex in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. KIIT’s integrated campus spans 400 acres and hosts over 30 specialist campuses, with KSOM’s facilities including a dedicated academic block, air-conditioned hostels, a food court, and a sports complex shared across the KIIT ecosystem.

The KSOM library is a 4-storey dedicated building with 21,000 books, 180 print periodicals (including 30 international titles), and 10,000 e-journals. The library is positioned as a self-study and group-study space for MBA and BBA students.

Hostel accommodation is bundled into the MBA fee structure, with AC residential facilities included in the INR 18,00,620 total cost. All hostels on the KIIT campus have 24-hour internet access, a security system, and a dedicated mess facility. Faculty strength at KSOM is 70 members, with over 40% having doctoral qualifications from IIMs and other premier institutions.

KSOM vs XIMB vs IMI Bhubaneswar

Aspirants shortlisting Bhubaneswar B-schools most commonly consider KSOM alongside Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB, now part of XIM University) and IMI Bhubaneswar. All three are in the same city, making location a neutral factor. The decision typically comes down to ranking tier, fees, and average placement outcomes.

XIMB leads on placement average and national ranking. KSOM leads on all-inclusive residential fee transparency and AACSB membership within the KIIT ecosystem. IMI Bhubaneswar offers a lower entry fee with comparable placement outcomes to KSOM, making it a cost-efficient alternative for candidates who do not receive the KSOM merit scholarship.
