Ques. Is the PGDHRM of 1 year duration from SIBM Bangalore good?

● Top Answer By Kritika Panigrahi on 19 Jun 21

Ans. This depends upon what you are looking for. If you are currently in your final year of graduation and the only option you have is SIBM Bangalore, then you can take the exam next year. As you have the time and resources. However, if you are a working professional with over 1 to 1.5 years of work experience, then you possibly should avail the offer. Because preparing again might or might not provide you with a better option than a 1-year program.  Needless to say, SIBM Bangalore is well renowned for its finance and operation profiles. But, the HRM profile can relevantly also turn out to be disadvantageous, as you will have to find placements on your own. If you are however interested in HR, then you can apply at TISS, or XLRI because they have one of the best HR programs in the country.Read more

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very detailed and quite hectic for the first year with about 12-13 subjects included in each semester. The faculties have detailed, well planned course material spread over 20-30 sessions depending on the course credit and curriculum. Each course is enriched with simulations, case studies and real world problem solving to give the student a thorough understanding of the subject. The good part is that the subjects are taught right from the basics to make sure people from different graduation backgrounds are able to cope up.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is really good and includes a lot of interesting subjects as electives. The marketing specialization does really well in terms of final placement which was one of the reasons I chose this college. Faculty: student ratio is around 60:400. Faculties are from good educational and professional background. Their style of teaching is unique and good. Term exams were timely and if you study consistently it is not difficult to pass the exam with good grades.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course as I was inclined to business management and wanted that as my career path. The faculty to student ratio in the college is pretty good, such that attention can be paid to all the students and brief discussions can take place within the class. The teaching method is very good and they share their corporate experiences we have mid sems and final exams for every semester besides projects and assignments

Course Curriculum Overview :

There are merely 214 students here, which is quite better than the usual 500+ strength that is present across most B schools. This makes the experience a lot better and focused. Faculty joined in from all the top institutes and usually brought in 15+ years of work-ex or PHDs. Exams were always on time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I did Bcom honours because I loved commerce and I had taken that course in school as well. Also, I had read about the faculty in my college teaching the course and I realised that the college only took teachers with a masters degree and with high experience. The faculty to student ratio was approximately 1:30 and there was personalised attention that was given to any kid who needed it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty members are really helpful and supportive. Most of the faculties have more than 10 years of experience and we used to get more simulation work in the colleges that give us real-life exposure to the work environment. The faculty-student ratio is 1:10. Maximum of the faculties are from premier Institutes and have at least 10 years of experience. The exams used to happen 3 times a year. So we had 3 semesters in 1st year and 3 semesters in 2nd year. There are a lot of surprise tests that happen frequently and every presentation and assignments have marks involved

Course Curriculum Overview :

Since I am in my first year, I have not yet picked up a particular specialization. The first years are made to learn about the four specializations of the second year, in brief. We get the essence of operations, marketing, finance and HR in the first year. Also, SIBM Bengaluru has introduced two new MBA programs from 2020, which are MBA in Business Analytics and MBA in Quantitative Finance. We can proudly say that our faculty members are extremely adequate, and are very supportive and encouraging to students.

"Internships"

The college has a good reputation and brand name. It is one of the fastest growing tier 2 MBA colleges in the country with a great MBA in the marketing program. The entrance exam takes place in mid December and the selection process takes place in February. The selection procedure consists of- 1. Group Exercise 2. Personal Interview 2. Written Ability Test This is collectively known as the GEPIWAT process. Major reasons for preferring this college are the experienced faculties and industry exposure provided in the college. The only thing that can be a little bothersome is the space constraint, the campus is a bit small but tries well to incorporate as many facilities as possible inclu

"SIBM Bengaluru Review"

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru lies in the outskirts of Bengaluru in Electronics City. The institute provides a top-notch faculty with a blend of both permanent faculty and visiting faculties that share their corporate experiences with the incumbent batch. The first thing that attracted to me this college was that this is a totally student-driven college. It gives you ample opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. The regular events give a great simulation of the corporate world and prepare you for the same. Besides these, they have many events which are totally conducted by the students giving them many opportunities to gain essential life skills. Th
