Hindusthan College of Arts and Science was set up in 1998 by Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore Admissions 2020

The admissions to the UG courses are based on merit in the qualifying examination. To be eligible, applicants must have passed 10 + 2. Admissions to PG courses are on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by Bharathiar university. MBA and MCA students are selected on the basis of TANCET scores, while Ph.D. and M.Phil students are selected on the basis of CET Scores. 

The application process for admission to this college is conducted offline and online.

How to Apply?

  • Candidates can obtain the application form from the admission office of the college or through post upon submitting the application fee.
  • An application fee of INR 300 (INR 150 for SC/ ST) should be submitted through Demand draft (DD).
  • DD should be drawn in favor of "Registrar, Bharathiar University payable at Coimbatore".
  • Candidates should fill the application form with all the relevant details.
  • Candidates should submit duly filled-in application forms along with the necessary documents at the admission office counter.

HICAS has a Placement Advisory Team which conducts Mock Tests, Group Discussions, and Mock Interviews with students to groom and prepare the students for real interviews. The college has tie-ups with a number of major companies like INFOSYS, TCS, CTS, Mahindra Tech, Wipro, L&T Infotech, Dell, Ford, MuSigma, Payoda, Info view, etc. Students have appeared for positions with great packages in nearly 70 reputed Multinationals, Corporates, PSUs and other organizations.

Some of the facilities provided by the college include: 

  • Hostel: There are separate hostels for girls and boys with an accommodation capacity of 1500 students. Rooms are assigned on the basis of merit. Hygienic vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is also served. 
  • Library: The library is fully automated. It has a large collection of books updated every year, as well as e-resources available via the internet.
  • Sports Facilities: The college has a state of the art gym, a basketball court with floodlights, both indoors and outdoors tennis and shuttle court, a large ground for football, cricket, ball badminton and volleyball, karate, and taekwondo and bodybuilding facilities.
  • Laboratories: There is a state of the art laboratories, equipped for Research programs. These contain the latest gadgets and devices with updated software. There is free internet provided to students even after college hours.

Ques. Can I apply for the course even though my graduation results are still awaited?

Ans. Yes, applications can be made for the Entrance Test. On clearing the entrance exam, a ‘provisional’ admission shall be allowed but the admission will only be confirmed when the mark sheet with eligible aggregate will be produced to the University.

Ques. Is counseling done prior to admission?

Ans: Yes, offline counseling is offered to students prior to admission. Attending the counseling is mandatory and any student failing to attend will not be considered for admission.

Ques. Are the courses full-time?

Ans. Yes, the courses are full time and attendance is mandatory. The students are not allowed to register for any other courses and actions will be taken if found guilty.

Ques. Can state level athletes from different states apply for a scholarship?

Ans. Yes, state-level athletes from any state can apply for fees concession. For more details, the students can contact the college help desk or visit the official website.

Ques. Are the courses in annual mode or semester mode?

Ans. All the courses are in semester mode. However, the duration of each of them varies. For complete details, students can contact the college.

      Remarks -

      Good aspects- I know that here the education is good. Bad aspects- the hostel is not a discipline I think. Admission process- here when I call they pick it at first tike itself but the other college they did not do this. Reason- My brother advised me to join in this college because here I can learn the subject and also life.

      I decided to opt for Hindustan college of arts and science because the admission process was easy , it required no criteria . The college has a good reputation for co- curricular activities. I did not prefer Hindustan over any other college it was my back up college in case other colleges didn't provide me any seats. My brother had studied in Hindustan so it was referred to me, there were no such blogs or website that I had looked into. Regarding the dates and admission, I had applied and immediately got my seat by paying the fee and my respective course was provided to me .       My schooling too falls under the same institution (Hindusthan). But not the one which is located in Chennai. Both Chennai and Coimbatore is different. More over the college was famous for inter college competition called Hilaricus.
