Being the oldest B-School in India and one of the most prestigious colleges, XLRI is famous for the esteemed faculties, state of the art facilities, and extensive peer learning opportunities. The college has a very rational and merit-based selection process that starts from XAT and concludes with an eye-opening interview experience. It's an experience for the life filled with unmatched opportunities for both theoretical and practical learning. The elaborate curriculum which ensures the expansion of a student's horizon through case-based practical learning and intense application of concepts makes it the most preferred B-School for me.
First-year students sit for Summer Placements at the end of the first semester. About 90 companies visit and more than 180 offers are made in all. The average package for summer placements is about INR 1.2 lakh a month. There is 100% placement and all students are placed.
XLRI is among the Top 5 B-Schools of India and is the Oldest B-School as well. It boasts of a premier brand value and hence one gets access to the best companies, roles and opportunities. XLRI has admissions only on merit and there is no quota or relaxation mechanism in the selection process. The admission process is similar to that of other B-Schools and includes an exam, GD, PI etc. As XAT is conducted in January after most of the main exams are done, one gets the chance to focus more and also gauge how hard one has to push for results in this exam since some results of other exams are usually out by this time. I referred to the website of various coaching classes and also talked to past alumni and MBA graduates. Since Jamshedpur is a small city, it has not been possible for us to reach campus due to multiple reasons including that XLRI is a private institute among others.
Great placements in consulting (Bain, BCG, Kearney, kpmg) marketing (p&g, itc, Nestle, Bajaj), and ops (tas, m&m, Amazon, etc). Finance, some top companies like JPMC and Goldman Sachs do come. Overall everyone gets placed with great packages
Good: placements are great, most of the faculty are knowledgeable, the XL culture is renowned and builds character, many committees for varied interests Bad: Administration is not sympathetic to the needs of students, fees are high XAT is more logical based, compared to CAT which is heavier on how much you have practiced. You may be able to crack XAT with very less prep if you have the right attitude and mindset. This is the best call I got, hence chose this college. I preferred it over my next best call, MDI Gurgaon based on discussions and reviews by existing students of the colleges
Students after Term 1 sit for summer internships. Companies like BCG, HUL, Amazon, JPMC, etc visit campus. XLRI has a record of 100 percent placements.
The college is known for its good placements records, the distinguished faculty makes it a haven for higher learning, and students are exposed to state of the art facilities that engage their mind, body, and soul.
No campus placement was offered. As we were under the bond of Tata Steel for three years. We were being paid with full basic salary during this period by Tata Steel. In addition to that, all facilities of Tata Steel was given during this period for example - medical facility, house rent facility etc.
Good aspect -Interaction and social upgradation. Bad aspect - Most of the senior professors are not concerned about students progress/ performance and their improvement. They are only focused on syllabus coverage. a) Passed the exam conducted by Tata Steel on organization level (07 April), b) GD/PI round cleared (25 April), c) Admission-04 May.
Great culture which ensures senior-junior interaction and peer learning, amazing placements. One of the best institutes in India in terms of placements.Campus life is incomparable to any other B-school with huge events happening every other week.
One of the best institutes in India in terms of placements. It finishes its placement process usually in 2-3 days. Average package may range from 23-25 Lacs. The highest package may go as high as 60 Lacs. Almost all the top consulting companies like BCG, Bain, McKinsey, AT Kearney and top FMCG companies like HUL, P&G visit the campus regularly. With the presence of its alumni in the top positions in almost every company, amazing placements is what XL can guarantee.
First of all it is near to my home and my father also is a professor in this college so it was fairly easy for me to get the admission there. Moreover I completed my Graduation in KIIT Bhubaneswar where I fell homesick and was sick most of the time. This made me choose a college near to my home
Placements are very good in the campus. Students get a live interships projects as well to get their skills up. The college is also among the top private institute in terms of placement. The company that visit the campus are: TCS, Amazon, IBM, Accenture, Goldman Sachs etc
My overall experience at this college was great and the campus life was amazing, I had so much fun with my friends and classmates. Facilities like wi-fi, a library well-packed with books, canteen, etc. were provided.
To get admission to this college, I took the GMAT entrance exam and I fill out the form and after a few days, my application was shortlisted and I went through a personal interview. The admission process was straightforward.
The placement and job opportunities of our college were good. More than 90% of the students were placed and companies like Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys, etc visited our college for placement. They also provide internships for the students as well.
