Ans. There are a lot of factors which should be kept in mind while opting for either of the colleges. Some of such factors are mentioned below.  Attendance-  For attendance, HR is way more lenient than NM College. If you have a valid reason for low attendance such as preparation of CR, then you might be exempted.  However, this doesn't work in NM college, they are extremely strict about their attendance. Distance- If you are a resident of Mumbai then you should consider the distance of the college from your home. It is an important factor to consider, and saves a lot of time and money. Focus area-  If your goal is holistic development i.e. curriculum studies plus co-curricular activities, then NM college is the preferred choice.  HR is close to NM in this race. But NM provides a wider exposure owing to its central location of the college, surrounded by various other universities. Let’s take a look at the advantages of all the above-mentioned colleges in a tabular form below. Parameters NM College HR College Jai Hind College Mithibai College Placement rate (2020) 100% 70%-80% 65% 50% Average salary package (2020) 17.58 LPA 2 LPA >2.5 LPA and <5 LPA 4 LPA – 5 LPA Community- Often this factor is excluded while selecting a college, but this factor is as important as any of the above-mentioned factors. Although, if you have good people skills, you don’t need to consider it. But if you need a community then, in NM you will be surrounded by Gurjatis and in HR by Sindhis. Infrastructure-  NM College is up-to-date with its infrastructure regardless of the fact that it is one of the oldest and well-known colleges in Mumbai.  HR College is outdated, not maintained, in terms of infrastructure. Cost- If you are not a resident of Mumbai, South Mumbai is expensive in comparison to West Mumbai.  Thus, keeping the above analysis in mind, NM College is the best out of the four colleges.Read more

Ans. The department of Biotech at Jai  Hind College Mumbai is good with well-versed and experienced faculty. The professors are cooperative and helpful, the students will gain knowledge not only inside but outside the classroom as well. The library is well-maintained and has a huge collection of books. A library member can issue a book for ten days. Also, the labs are in good working conditions. Besides academic excellence, the department also focuses on providing the students with first-hand experience and practical application of their theoretical knowledge.  The students can also get an internship during the period of their course, which means they can earn money while studying and that is a great opportunity.  The biotech department has frequent industrial and institute visits, to bring the students face-to-face with the outside world. Every year the biotech department students organize a fest called “GENACES”. In the ‘Covid time’, too the institute maintained a proper schedule for theory and practical classes.  Here is the factual table for the BSc Biotech at Jai Hind College.  Cut-off percentage 88% Total fees for 3 years 54.8k Application process online Eligibility criteria 10th or 12th Board marks To sum it up, BSc in Biotech at Jai Hind College is a great choice for a student. Ans. Among the two institutes mentioned, St.Xavier College, Mumbai is better for a BA in psychology.  The table below will give you a brief overview of the two colleges. Parameters Jai Hind St.Xavier College Fee structure INR 16,200 (for 3 years) Rs 17,625 (for 3 years) Placement rate (2020) - >90% Average salary package (2020) 3 LPA 6.5 LPA Comparison:  Both the institutes provide good learning opportunities, but the difference is St. Xavier is autonomous and hence better. As St. Xaviers is autonomous, it can update the syllabus anytime, if needed. While Jai Hind is affiliated with MU and follows the same syllabus as MU. Which may not be updated.  Xavier’s also conducts its own examinations. So any problem caused in the result published by MU will not affect the students of Xaviers.  Like any other autonomous institute, Xaviers also publishes its results first. So, students get the first preference for a job.  While containing a degree from MU through Jai Hind is quite convenient since university and college will both have a set of mark sheets. From the academic point of view, St. Xaviers College is better than Jai Hind College Mumbai.Read more

Ans. Both of these colleges have their own pros and cons. Some of which are mentioned below.  Maharaja Agrasen College: It is a part of Delhi University, this implies that you can avail benefits from DU in terms of guidance and materials. Jai Hind College: Jai Hind College’s location is suitable for the students, you can get an opportunity to interact with students from other colleges and different branches.  Both teaching and non-teaching staff are excellent, they are better than the rest of the colleges as a matter of fact. Jai Hind College Alumni has Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Madhuri Dixit, etc. on their list.  JHC has established several connections with several Canadian institutions which is a big advantage for the students.  JHC has recently acquired the autonomous privilege, this reflects that they can now change the syllabus according to the changing requirements. Most of the students applying for Maharaja Agrasen College come from the CBSE board. Whereas, at JHC the majority of the students are from the HSC board. In the HSC board, it is tough to score high marks, in the CBSE board scoring high marks is tough but achievable. So, do not compare cut-off in order to determine which institute is better. Since it won’t provide a fair evaluation.Read more

Ans. Both KC College and Jai Hind College are good options for pursuing a BMM degree. Both colleges are affiliated to Mumbai University. However, KC College is autonomous. Jai Hind offers better infrastructure as BMM in KC is delivered at the Colaba campus. The course curriculum of Jai Hind College is also more rigorous than KC as their course work includes double projects (12 per semester) than KC (6 per semester). However, both the colleges have a strict attendance (75%) policy.  Particulars KC COLLEGE JAI HIND COLLEGE Entrance mode Merit-based Merit-based Application mode Online Online Average Tuition fee 19,175 INR/year 22,235 INR/year Placement salary (median) 2.4 LPA 3 LPA KC College organizes ‘Blitzkrieg’, a reputed fest for students of BMM across Mumbai. ‘Detour’ is the inter-college BMM fest of Jai Hind. Jai Hind also organizes industry visits, PTA meets, etc around the academic year. To conclude, both the Colleges are equally good. Jai Hind provides a better exposure but KC provides good ROI.   Read more

Jai hind is one of the best colleges which I had heard but it is an average college. The faculty is fine but not per my expectations. The College campus is not spacious which makes it very crowded but it provides most of the amenities. The canteen food is good and it is the only place which is spacious. Jai hind is known for its events. Students manage events very effectively.

The college is one of the most renowned colleges in mumbai. Moreover, the college infrastructure, faculty members, societies, placements and the diversity it offers to the students were a few reasons i chose the college.

The reputation of the college and the experience of the faculty made me choose this college. Their practical and activity based approach for teaching made me select this college. Though it takes around 1 hour for me to reach my college but is still worth the time.

Admission process is very systematic, as well as fees is also low. College is good for events but studies are not taken that seriously. This college is good for increasing self confidence. One of the main advantage is it is 100 m to church gate Railway Station.
