Ans. There are a lot of factors which should be kept in mind while opting for either of the colleges. Some of such factors are mentioned below. Attendance- For attendance, HR is way more lenient than NM College. If you have a valid reason for low attendance such as preparation of CR, then you might be exempted. However, this doesn't work in NM college, they are extremely strict about their attendance. Distance- If you are a resident of Mumbai then you should consider the distance of the college from your home. It is an important factor to consider, and saves a lot of time and money. Focus area- If your goal is holistic development i.e. curriculum studies plus co-curricular activities, then NM college is the preferred choice. HR is close to NM in this race. But NM provides a wider exposure owing to its central location of the college, surrounded by various other universities. Let’s take a look at the advantages of all the above-mentioned colleges in a tabular form below. Parameters NM College HR College Jai Hind College Mithibai College Placement rate (2020) 100% 70%-80% 65% 50% Average salary package (2020) 17.58 LPA 2 LPA >2.5 LPA and <5 LPA 4 LPA – 5 LPA Community- Often this factor is excluded while selecting a college, but this factor is as important as any of the above-mentioned factors. Although, if you have good people skills, you don’t need to consider it. But if you need a community then, in NM you will be surrounded by Gurjatis and in HR by Sindhis. Infrastructure- NM College is up-to-date with its infrastructure regardless of the fact that it is one of the oldest and well-known colleges in Mumbai. HR College is outdated, not maintained, in terms of infrastructure. Cost- If you are not a resident of Mumbai, South Mumbai is expensive in comparison to West Mumbai. Thus, keeping the above analysis in mind, NM College is the best out of the four colleges.Read more

Ans. Among the two institutes mentioned, St.Xavier College, Mumbai is better for a BA in psychology. The table below will give you a brief overview of the two colleges. Parameters Jai Hind St.Xavier College Fee structure INR 16,200 (for 3 years) Rs 17,625 (for 3 years) Placement rate (2020) - >90% Average salary package (2020) 3 LPA 6.5 LPA Comparison: Both the institutes provide good learning opportunities, but the difference is St. Xavier is autonomous and hence better. As St. Xaviers is autonomous, it can update the syllabus anytime, if needed. While Jai Hind is affiliated with MU and follows the same syllabus as MU. Which may not be updated. Xavier’s also conducts its own examinations. So any problem caused in the result published by MU will not affect the students of Xaviers. Like any other autonomous institute, Xaviers also publishes its results first. So, students get the first preference for a job. While containing a degree from MU through Jai Hind is quite convenient since university and college will both have a set of mark sheets. From the academic point of view, St. Xaviers College is better than Jai Hind College Mumbai.Read more

Ans. Both of these colleges have their own pros and cons. Some of which are mentioned below. Maharaja Agrasen College: It is a part of Delhi University, this implies that you can avail benefits from DU in terms of guidance and materials. Jai Hind College: Jai Hind College’s location is suitable for the students, you can get an opportunity to interact with students from other colleges and different branches. Both teaching and non-teaching staff are excellent, they are better than the rest of the colleges as a matter of fact. Jai Hind College Alumni has Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Madhuri Dixit, etc. on their list. JHC has established several connections with several Canadian institutions which is a big advantage for the students. JHC has recently acquired the autonomous privilege, this reflects that they can now change the syllabus according to the changing requirements. Most of the students applying for Maharaja Agrasen College come from the CBSE board. Whereas, at JHC the majority of the students are from the HSC board. In the HSC board, it is tough to score high marks, in the CBSE board scoring high marks is tough but achievable. So, do not compare cut-off in order to determine which institute is better. Since it won’t provide a fair evaluation.Read more
