|year 1||PROGRAM GRAND TOTAL|
The fee structure when compared to the other colleges is highly feasible as I paid just 40000/- for three years of Bcom hons. There are even scholarships and loan facilities available for the students from the college end.
Bcom honours is the course which is to be opted as this course is considered as a basis for the people planning to persue MBA. This course covers the topics of MBA first year and it's an ease for the students to go for higher studies.
The course fee for Journalism in English is INR 79,000. The college offers a scholarship for select candidates.
The syllabus was pretty vast and make me familiar with the basic ins and outs of Journalism. The course topics range from history to basic legalities of journalism. The course curriculum enabled me to have exposure to new/evolving techniques of reporting/editing/production/ distribution.
The annual fee for the course is Rs. 1.32 lakhs. This fees is a subsidized amount since this is a government institute. Same course in the private institute would be about five times the amount. So in the sense of the amount of investment the student places in each student in terms of learning, I infrastructure and other facilities, the course fee seems to be feasible.
The course is designed in a way that it gives maximum freedom to the students to express themselves. The students are encouraged to debate and discuss in every class. Special classes are structured with guest lecturers who are experts in their fields. A lot of practical and field exercises are conducted to give the students a first hand experience in the field. They are also encouraged to attend live talk shows and make their own tv and radio programs. In two semesters , the students get to learn a range of subjects like media law, media ethics, radio reporting, tv reporting, video editing, even advertising and public relations. You are also supposed to submit a research paper at the end of ...
Since this was a government-funded institute, the fee was very reasonable, it was a mere 2000 Rs per semester. There used to be fee for other things including hostel accommodation and mess charges. There were further concession for students for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes.
When I passed out, it was quiet a comprehensive course, relevant to those times. Digital journalism/new media was non-existant, so the subjects too were not there. Since the college had resources, practicals and other non-academic activities were in abundance.
The fee structure is expensive however they do provide scholarships and waivers. My fee was almost 1L. The fee is paid in two instalments. One at the beginning and other in the second semester. Our fee being the highest because of practical aspect. By what they provide the fee is surely high, the equipment issued to us were not the latest nor were they in ample in nos.
Thanks for your valuable feedback. Our team will look into it.
