Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai established in 1837 as a School in the black town of Madras. The Institution was built and its character shaped by a host of Scottish missionaries such as Anderson and Miller, Hogg and Boyd.Many dedicated Indian teachers, as well as generations of brilliant students, contribute to its success story. The college is known as much for its academic standing and leadership building as it is for social commitment.

Festival:

  • Deepwoods, which is an inter-collegiate Cultural Festival. Typically held each year in February, it is a three-day event with various colleges from all over the country participating. Over 70 colleges from Chennai and other cities in India are participants in the event, bringing together over 30,000 people.
  • The symbol meaning the big event is an intercollegiate Physics fest organized by the Department of Physics (SFS) in order to promote learning and understanding of the basic concepts of Physics.
