Ans. Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar is ranked in 100-150 band in NIRF 2020 whereas CGC Landran is ranked in 201-250 band in NIRF 2020. Guru Jambheshwar University and CGC Landran both are good engineering colleges at par with industry standards.
The JEE main 2019 cut-off for Guru Jambheshwar University CSE Branch was 53,885 rank for general all India students and 92,653 for home state general students.
The cut-off for the same year at CGC Landran was 6,87,300 rank for all India general category students and 10,90,000 for home state students.
Hence, getting admission into CGC Landran is much easier as compared to GJU Hisar.
CGC is affiliated to Punjab Technical University which is a bit outdated. Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar has better course-curriculum and practical facilities. This university is affiliated to University Grant Commissions (UGC).
CGC Landran provides good computer centre facilities. The institute has a dedicated networking centre which is beneficial for CSE students. CGC has better facilities than GJU. Non-academic facilities such as hostels, transportation etc are almost the same in both the colleges.
Location wise CGC Landran has an edge over Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar as it is located on outskirts of Chandigarh and Mohali. Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar is also urbanely situated but Chandigarh has better exposure as well as connectivity than Hisar.
Both colleges have good campuses and Infrastructure but CGC Landran has better campuses and facilities in terms of sports facilities, computer centres and libraries. Hostels and catering services are not up to that required level in both the Colleges.
The highest package in CGC Landran was 35 LPA whereas in Guru Jambheshwar University was 6 LPA. But the latter had a better average package of 5 LPA as compared to 3.5 LPA of CGC Landran.
The placement percentage of CGC Landran is 100% whereas the placement percentage is 80% for Guru Jambheshwar University.
CGC Landran is visited by companies like Microsoft, IBM, HP, Google, Dell, Samsung etc and on the other hand, Guru Jambheshwar University is visited by Canara Bank, Birla Sun Life Insurance Co, Bank of India, Bajaj Allianz Insurance Co., Axis Bank, Andhra Bank etc.
The maximum package offered is greater in CGC Landran but Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar has better average placement package. Also, the placement at CGC Landran is 100% compared to 80% in Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar as CGC students are hired by mass recruiters too which lowers the average placement package. Ranking of Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar is better than CGC Landran.
If all facts are combined then it is equally good to choose both the institutes for CS Engineering. The feature which should be given the most priority is the decision of prospective students.Read more

Ans. NIRF 2020 has ranked LPU at 87, CGC Landran at 201-250 band and NIET Noida at 99 for Engineering. LPU and NIET Noida are affiliated to the University grant Commission and follow the latest course curriculum with practical study and implementation. CGC Landran is affiliated to the Punjab Technical University and its curriculum is slightly outdated which lacks practical study and implementation.
CGC Landran offers admission through JEE Mains. The cut-off for CGC Landran CSE Branch was 6,87,300 rank for all India general category students and 10,90,000 for home state students.
Whereas in NIET Noida admissions are provided on the basis of UPSEE Exam, the cut-off rank in 2019 for all India General students was 34,341 for CSE, for OBC it was 55,469.
LPU conducts LPUNEST exam for B tech admissions or it also takes admission on the basis of JEE mains.
CGC Landran has an annual fee of INR 96,000 whereas NIET and LPU charge about INR 1 lakh to 1.5 Lakh per annum.
Campus location and infrastructure:
Situated near the Country capital and in Noida, NIET has the best connectivity among the three colleges followed by LPU and then CGC Landran. Infrastructure wise LPU is better and consisting of excellent facilities and computer centres. CGC Landran and NIET Noida also have good infrastructure.
The average package of LPU is 5.4 LPA whereas CGC Landran and NIET Noida have an average package around 3.5 LPA.
The highest package offered by LPU was 42 LPA and by CGC Landran was 35 LPA whereas NIET Noida had a lower maximum package of 11 LPA.
The placement percentage in all the three colleges are 100% and the colleges are visited by reputed national and international companies.
For the CSE course, LPU is a good choice. The other two are also good. The decision should be made by the candidate not only on the above parameters as required but according to the connectivity of the college from the home town and annual fee of the college.Read more

Ans. Both colleges have a good reputation but which is a better option that depends upon a number of factors. CGC Landran is ranked in 210-250 band by NIRF 2020 whereas DAVIET is ranked 100 by India Today.
Given below is a brief overview of the two colleges.
AICTE, PCI, NCTE
UGC, AICTE, NAAC ‘A’ grade
BTech, BBA, MBA, BSc, BCA, Bcom, MCA
BTech, BCA, BHMCT, MBA, BBA, Bcom, BTTM
Entrance exam accepted
JEE Mains, GATE, PTU CET, CAT
JEE Mains, GATE, CMAT
DAVIET fee structure is lower than CGC Landran. DAVIET has an average annual fee of Rs. 70,000 whereas CGC Landran has an average annual fee of Rs.96,000.
CGC Landran offers merit scholarships, merit-means scholarships, scholarships for differently-abled students, etc.
DAVIET offers Post Matric Scholarships to eligible candidates from the reserved category as per the Punjab Govt/IKG PTU norm.
CGC Landran has better placement (almost 100%) in IT/CSE department as compared to DAVIET Jalandhar and for core streams like Mechanical, Electrical etc both are equally good. On the other hand, DAVIET has a lower placement percentage but has a higher average salary as DAVIET does not allow mass recruiters which offer less than 3 LPA packages.
Every year top companies like Samsung, IBM, Microsoft, Dell etc visit both the campuses.
In terms of placement percentage, CGC Landran has led with 100% placement compared to DAVIET Jalandhar which has 85% placement.
The average package of both the colleges is the same 3.5 LPA.
The highest package of CGC Landran is 35 LPA whereas the highest package of DAVIET Jalandhar is only 10 LPA. As CGC is a group of institutions, it has advantages over the highest package data.
So, the choice of college purely depends on one’s priority. Placement wise CGC Landran has an edge over DAVIET but if you consider fee structure and campus location or exposure then DAVIET is better. DAVIET is located in Jalandhar city and hence has location advantage and better connectivity than CGC Landran. Academically both are equally good colleges and their average placement is similar. DAVIET has comparatively a smaller number of placements but quality placements and CGC has more placements from mass recruiters.Read more

Ans. CGC Landran has a good reputation and is better known for placements of CSE/IT/ECE (IT Sector related streams). Mechanical stream placement of the college is averagely rated. The institute offers training for placement to its students.
Few core companies visit for the mechanical branch. The college claims that Mechanical branch recruiters like Bajaj and Mahindra and Mahindra visit their campus but the number of placements from these companies is low.
The average placement package of B. tech 2019 batch is 4.5 LPA and 1-2 students from a batch of 80 got packages of more than 9 lakh in IT-related branches. Most students in non-IT related branches land 3-4 LPA jobs.
Many students of mechanical branches here study coding to get placed in the IT Sector.
The 2018-19 placement records have shown that 40-50% of students from the Mechanical department, among the eligible, were placed with median packages between 3 to 4 LPA. The year 2017-18 had shown almost the same results previously.
Most of these placements are in non-core sectors.
At last, if a student is skilful and has knowledge at par with the concerned industry standard then they will surely find good placement irrespective of college. There are some examples of students who did outstanding and got placed in top mechanical core companies like Royal Enfield, Mahindra & Mahindra and Bajaj.Read more

Ans. CGC Landran is a part of Chandigarh University whereas Chitkara University is a separate University. CGC Landran being part of Chandigarh University is a good college but it is recommended to study at the main campus as it will have better or equal facilities. But the choice also depends upon the cost of education and other important factors. All the institute takes admission through JEE Mains.
CGC Landran is ranked 52 for BTech by Chronicle 2019.
Chandigarh University is ranked 84 for BTech by NIRF 2020.
Chitkara University is ranked 151 among the top universities of India by NIRF 2020.
CGC Landran has an annual CSE/IT B. tech fee of INR 96,000 and Chitkara University has INR 97,000 whereas Chandigarh University has an annual fee of INR 1.68 lakhs for these branches.
Chandigarh University has the best infrastructure and largest campus among the three. All three institutes are equally good academically. Chandigarh University having better infrastructure among three offers excellent teaching, practical and library facilities. Chandigarh University also has one of the best fests in whole north India.
Each of the colleges was visited by top recruited companies all over the world during the 2018-19 session.
Chitkara University saw 85% placement with 13.5 LPA max package and 4.5 LPA as the average package.
Whereas CGC Landran and CU both had observed 100% placement for the branches. The maximum package in both the colleges was the same 35 LPA.
CU has the highest average package among these three with 5 LPA whereas CGC Landran has the lowest average with 3.5 LPA.
Chandigarh University has a better record in all the above parameters discussed. CGC Landran is a cost-effective college which offers best if compared to Chitkara University Himachal Campus. Between CU and CGC, CU is the main campus and it offers better facilities. But the final choice still will lie with prospective students as factors such as connectivity from home and cost of attendance should also be taken into consideration before joining.Read more
