Hostel is what U should think twice before coming to this college. A 3 seater room ( Only according to them ) will be provided in which forcefully 4 girls have to adjust. Hostel Mess is not upto the mark.Restrictions, Rules of the hostel are very strict but still is of no use. Its because only if u have few friends U could survive in hostel otherwise its better to take flat or Pgs in Cuttack ( Not to forget these other rental options are 22 km away from college for which college bus is provided but still it becomes too difficult )
Infrastructure of Driems was what which will leave you Speechless. The Lush green campus, wide area, beautiful guest houses for parents to spend 1-2 days inside college campus itself are praiseworthy. Library, Sports Complex will make ur eyes rub twice just Awstrucking. Only laboraties of CSE dept are well equipped with Air Conditioner but not others department. Laboratories have many equipment missing, is less spacious too.
The hostel needs to be maintained more as the food quality in mess is not that proper. Also girls cannot go out after 5 pm. The hostel rooms are decent and are cleaned properly. The washrooms in the hostel also need some basic maintenance.
The campus is huge. It is around 170 acres and is very beautifully maintained. One can find a close connect to flora and fauna here. Different kinds of beautiful birds are seen around the campus. The campus also has courts for sports and recreation. A gym, swimming pool and much more.
4 students in one room with common bathroom, only 3 sets of bathroom in each floor. The first floor has a problem of water lodging in rainy season. The food in mess is below average. We often encounter insects in our food which upon complaining the Admin says "Its common. No problem in that". I do not understand when the fees of girls and boys hostel is same why is there difference in facilities. No cupboard in girls hostel, maids only work weekly and even there is different menu in both the hostel. Its once happened our tube light was fused. We had no light to study. Yet they did not repair it till now. The behaviour of some seniors is worst. They are more interested in junior's life than in theirs. I've seen the superintendent and the seniors ganging up against the junior students from other states which was pathetic. There is some filthy rule of wishing your seniors whenever you see them as a way of paying respect which they do not deserve a bit. They can even mentally harass you for this. Only few of them were good.
From outside it will look good but looks are often deceptive. Some classes don't have fan working well. The admission cell lied to us while admission that they will provide us with a bus so that we can go to our respective labs which is at distance no such facility was provided ever. I would like to mention specifically the Basic Electrical Lab,there is no facility for students to sit. We had to perform our lab standing continuously for 3 hrs. They claim of having free wi-fi but no they do not provide so,even other networks do not function well. Its located at such a rural place. The so called sports complex is only for boys not for girls.
Hostel accommodation is good, You get a triple sharing room. The room is quite big in size with seperate study table but no cupboard facilities to keep luggage. Its non- ac and no facilities incase you want one. Wi-fi is available and water cooler. Mess is quite far from hostel.
Campus is full of facilities, the only downside is the campus life and campus placement. Driems is one of the best college in odisha as far as campus infrastructure is concerned, it has the biggest 12 storey library which is onE of a kind. You have all the facilities be it gym, sports complex, swimming pool, soccer field, basketball field but there won't be anyone to play and looking at it seems it's not used since ages.
In my college the compus life is full of excitement. If any one can take the admission he or she will enjoy the environment, facility and infrastructure. In my college swimming pools, Jim, and cricket ground is available. 24×7 library facility with free WiFi.
Yes hostels are available and they have surplus. It's 4 people in a room sometimes 3. Hostels come with dining facility, though hostel food is not good. You can manage if you try to. There are refreshment centre's too.
Campus life isn't much like that of urban colleges. You get to see most of the people being too themselves. Hardly you'll find girls and boys interacting. Most people are locals so it is a language barrier that an outsider has to face as people interact majorly in their native language. There is a little competitive atmosphere in some fields, but not to that extent.
Gender ration in our college was approx 60:40 boys girls. No parties allowed in the campus. Cultural activity was allowed once a ear for approximately 15-20 days that includes sports and preparation for Annual day events. Debates, peotry, and Several Engineering idea competition was gel to share thoughts and innovation. There were no elections then, so no politics . Few groups were created for anti ragging and Women safety . The environment was friendly so no sexual abuse or inequality was allowed or practiced in college.
Yesss there are so many extra curricular activities in our college. There is a swimming pool. A big library for everyone. A stadium for playing cricket. A tennis court. 2 badminton court and a big gym inside our college

It's a good college especially good for diploma courses. The faculties are good. The only disadvantage of the college is that it is located in a very remote area. As it is a private college you have to pay some advance before the admission process and then after submitting your biodata the admission process begins. I preferred this college over others because the civil engineering department in the diploma course is pretty good and they provide excellent teaching.by Nirbikalpa Sahoo
