Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing (IIITDM Kancheepuram) was established in 2007 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. IIITDM is located in Kancheepuram, Chennai.  IIITDM has been approved by AICTE. IIITDM Kancheepuram offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs which focus on IT, design and manufacturing in engineering sectors.

 Currently, more than 35 research scholars are working in the subjects of computer science, mechanical and electrical & electronics engineering in pursuit of their Doctorate degrees. IIITDM has initiated an Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research Cell (ICSR) to motivate the faculty to conduct research through consultancy works and funded projects.

IIITDM Kancheepuram also offers dual degrees. The entrance procedure for dual degrees is the same as Btech.

The placement cell at IIITDM Kancheepuram is well equipped and is designed to facilitate each stage of the recruitment procedure. In the academic year 2017-2018, 30 companies visited the campus for recruitment. The highest package was 13 LPA.
