Ans. VJTI Bombay is one of the oldest institutes in Mumbai. It offers a number of courses and has a legacy of highly placed and reputed alumni. Their course structure has undergone many transformations in recent years and they have also adopted the latest technology for IT and CS courses.  The B.Tech course at VJTI can be considered a well-reputed course as they receive hundreds of applications every year.  They are an autonomous college and allow students to take up interdisciplinary courses, irrespective of their graduation specialization.  VJTI allows students to take up more research and experience-based projects to add to their portfolio value and the overall student experience is motivating and challenging for students to achieve new heights in their careers. The integrated course at IIITM Gwalior has two formats: B.Tech + MBA and B.Tech + M.Tech.  Students can choose their specialization of whether to do an MBA or M.Tech in their 3rd year.  Their course structure at IIITM Gwalior is famous among engineering colleges and their placement rates are very high.  IIITM has one of the best research faculties and integrated program students are mostly taken up by P.hD level professors. Pursuing an integrated degree allows students to save one entire year of Master’s education which they can then use to increase their productivity in the job market or prepare for further competitive exams. One potential drawback could be that an integrated program does not grant you a specific specialization. Students are only awarded an M.Tech degree. However, this factor does not affect placements and dual degree alumni get the same placement offers as mainstream master’s degree students do.  The student-faculty ratio in the dual degree program is also high which allows students to get personalized attention by the best research faculty on the campus. Analyzing comparatively, VJTI has a century-old legacy to offer with hundreds of students either going for placements or mostly, further education. IIITM Gwalior is not so famous but does provide placement assurance and modern technological facilities. It completely depends on the student on what kind of career are they looking for and what kind of degree do they want to pursue.Read more

Ans. National Institute of Technology, Suratkhal (NIT Suratkhal), offers a four-year bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication. With the 123 seat markup, the competition can get pretty competitive, as it yields towards high paying placement packages from a great program.  VJTI, Mumbai also offers a similar 4-year program in computer engineering, with students getting placement offers from the company's consolidated campus drive.  Students confused amongst the degrees can judge both by the lens of public demand and professional relevance. Ans. VJTI Mumbai is an academically and socially established institute with astute faculty members and state of the art infrastructure. The college offers competitive technology degrees among other programs spread over 20+ disciplines.  VNIT (Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology) Nagpur is a growing engineering college, known best for its UG, PG, and doctorate level degrees in the technology sector. By nabbing 27th place in the NIRF ranking and 24th place in the Outlook ranking, VNIT sets its position firmly as one of the best engineering colleges in the state of Maharastra.  Both of these colleges are great in their merits. Here's how both of these colleges look against each other: Parameters VNIT Nagpur VJTI Mumbai Institute Rankings (NIRF, Engineering) 27 71 Overall Placement Percentage 80% 95% Campus Size  215.26 acres 16 acres Average Fee INR 5,50,000 INR 1,92,000 Average Package  INR 7,00,000 INR 3,85,000 Admission VNIT, Nagpur B.Tech: Aspirants are required to appear for JEE Main and avail of the cut-off marks M.Tech: Aspirants are required to appear for GATE and avail of the cut-off marks M.Sc: Aspirants are required to appear for the JAM Entrance Exam and avail of the cut-off marks VJTI, Mumbai B.Tech: Aspirants must have the 10+2 certificate and qualify for MHT CET M.Tech: Aspirants must have a B.Tech/BE Degree with a valid score in GATE MCA: Aspirants must have completed their bachelors (BCA) and have a valid score in MAH MCA CET Placement VNIT, Nagpur Over 136 recruiters scout talented graduates from VNIT each academic year. The packages go as high as 22 LPA, with a median package sticking at 7 LPA.  Amazon, Capgemini Technology Services Ltd, BYJU'S, and Aakash Institute are some of the top recruiters.  VJTI, Mumbai VJTI maintains a 95.7% placement record, with eligible graduates going as high as 27 LPA in placed packages. From a pool of 517 students, 495 got offers in the academic year of 2019. VJTI, Mumbai ticks all of these boxes in a way VNIT cannot, and hence, as per the statistics, VJTI is a better fit for up and coming graduates.Read more

Ans. It’s been long believed that when it comes to education, name trumps substance. Many students believe that the institute they graduate from must belong to a cadre of famous establishments, despite its constant underperformance. Similarly, fresh aspirants may think that an established institute like SVNIT is obviously better than local colleges like VJTI or DJ Sanghavi—when in reality, the numbers presented by colleges like VJTI surpass the best performing years of big names like SVNIT.  Admission: SVNIT Surat 10+2 pass out with an aggregate of minimum 50% along with qualifying JEE Main scores are eligible for Bachelor’s Degree in the college. For masters, students need to have a minimum of 60% B.Tech score and qualifying GATE numbers. The fee structure for B.Tech 1st year is INR 1,50,000 while for M.Tech, it is INR 82,350. VJTI, D J Sanghavi, Somaiya VJTI shrinks the competition by holding a state level entrance exam: MHT- CET. Local colleges have a lesser competitive edge and a higher rate of success. The fee structure for B.Tech 1st year is INR 95,000 while for M.Tech, it is INR 81,750.  Placement: Parameters VJTI SVNIT, Surat  D J Sanghavi, Somaiya Placement Percentage 95.7% 76% 80% Highest Package INR 27 LPA INR 37.50 LPA INR 20.38 LPA Average Package  INR 6.8 LPA INR 4-7 LPA INR 6.6 LPA Merits of choosing local colleges over SVNIT, Surat: VJTI offers way more in terms of admission, course, faculty, and overall teaching. Its affordable fee structure stands out from the pool as well. Local colleges like VJTI and  DJ Sanghavi has come far in their journeys and is poised to offer competitive degrees at each level of education. Local colleges such as VJTI offers tremendous support to its students, which is often neglected in colleges under big branded names.  Although SVNIT beats VJTI is higher placement packages, the latter maintains a standard average placement drive with far more offers.Read more

Ans. While VJTI offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and Ph.D. degrees in leading disciplines, RCVE offers (B.E.), M.Tech, and MCA degrees and PES University offer B.Tech, BBA, B.Com, BCA, M.Tech, MCA, and MBA degrees. The admission into each of these programs is done through competitive exams. To understand which college is better, we need to break it down to several factors: Parameters VJTI PES University RVCE Campus area 16 acres 25 acres 56 acres Average Fee (B.Tech) INR 82,350 INR 3,30,000 (First Year) INR 3,00,400 Ranking (NIRF) 71 out of 300 151 out of 200  70 out of 300 Admission The applications are accepted online.  PES University accepts students based on their 10+2 performance.  RCVE accepts students based on a few entrance exams. For B. Tech, students need to crack KCET, for M.Tech, a GATE score is required, etc. In VJTI as well, admissions are done through entrance tests such as MHT-CET and GATE. Faculty & Infrastructure  VJTI has state of the art technology and facilities, covering a hostel, massive classroom, sports complex, auditorium, gym among others.  Due to the lack of private and public funding, colleges such as PES and RVCE lack the resources to compete with a giant like VJTI. VJTI is one of the most prestigious college in Maharashtra. It is also one of the oldest one in Asia and ranks the top among colleges you can get in Maharashtra right behind IITB. I visited around 7-8 colleges right before filling the preference list. I talked to students of those colleges and asked them what the real situation is in terms of placements and opportunities and how the faculty is, student activites, etc. I really liked VJTI and so I opted for it.

One of the best in civil engineering. Proximity to my city & moreover faculty & placement of this college. Only colleges in this category were SPCE & COEP for the Civil Branch. I was having doubts as to whether should I go for Mechanical or Civil but then I decided Civil was a good option. However, I feel Civil Engg nowadays has less scope for budding Enggs. Placememt wise VJTI is top ranked. You can expect 10 lpa for a non core job(finance related). But Jobs in Core branches is very limited. For CS/IT VjTI is the best option in Maharashtra because of its ability to attract large no. of companies (Being in Mumbai, oldest college, great alumni network, Great TPO for CS/IT etc.)

VJTI is overall a good college, I spent my precious 4 years studying there. Just I feel they offer some reserve seats for mumbai students only who lives in mumbai, all students coming outside of mumbai n local students didnt get admission in there.
