Patna College is among the oldest of all colleges in the city of Patna, Bihar. The College offers various under graduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science. The university publishes the merit lists on its website as well as displays it on the college notice boards, however, there is no individual notification sent to the applicants.
The Patna College selects students who have qualified Patna University Common Eligibility Test commonly referred to as PUCET with a valid score. He/she must report at the examination centre 30 minutes before examination commencement time and ensure to locate their respective seat a per the assigned roll number. It is compulsory for him/her to carry the admit card during the entrance examination.
The intake for the B.M.C. course is 60 which might be changed from time to time only if the State Government makes an announcement regarding the same. The NRI quota reserves 5 additional seats which have a higher fee structure in comparison to that of Indian applicants. The College also reserves seats for the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories but the fee structure for all the students is the same. The B.M.C. programmes selects students on the basis of merit. The college prepares a merit list considering the performance of the candidate both in the entrance examination and the interview.
Patna College’s B.C.A. with Honours programme has the provision of offering admission to candidates on a provisional basis for 15 days long duration. The fee deposited initially is non-refundable and in case of the candidate dropping the course, he/she must pay the full course fee before leaving the course. The intake of the course is 30 seats. The admission done through the entrance examination and personal interview round. The entrance examination carries multiple choice questions and will be two hours long. The entrance examination will test his/her’s English Language/Grammar, General Arithmatic/Mathematics, Aptitude Assessment/ Test of Reasoning and General Awareness/ General Knowledge.
The B.B.A course enrolls students through Merit and the candidate’s academic performance in the entrance examination as well as personal interview. The course is of 2 years, where, the students are required to undergo mandatory professional training of two months after the second year’s end semester examination. Students are also required to submit a report based upon the professional training undertaken during this period which will be examined by external examiners as a compulsory part for the final awarding of the programme degree.
