I did Computer Science and Engineering from Roever College, Perambalur. The college is very much affordable but the placement is quite ordinary. The infrastructure is good, the library is stacked with books and journals from different disciplines.
The college had a nominal and very affordable fee structure. One year fee was 40,000 INR, i.e. you can complete your four years B.E. Program in less than 2 lacs. Though you will get the placement opportunities equivalent to that, only.
The campus life was pretty ordinary in our college. There were limited opportunities for entertainment. Management was very reluctant and hostile towards any sort of extracurricular activity. Apart from classes, we would spend our time in the guest lectures.
The style of teaching is orthodox and result oriented. Most of the staff members are undergoing a Ph.D program and actively participating in National and International Conferences. They are as much keen towards learning as their students are, which makes the student-teacher relationship more productive.
The college offers direct admission. I submitted the application form, and they called me for a basic interview. They mostly asked me about my academics.
The placement opportunities are good. The college has its own placement and corporate relationship cell, which maintain a regular relationship with the many companies, and invite their representatives on campus for internships, workshops, and placement drives. Some of the most frequent visitors include Cognizant, HCL, Suzlon, Polaris, etc.
