Remarks

Positive is that the college provides good faculty and they provide good curriculum and meets the standard level that a IIIT must have. And the placement was average here. You can come out of the campus and stay positive. Negatives are you cannot enjoy college life, there were no proper/adequate facilities. And the strength was low so you could get less support from people.

Remarks

IIIT Dharwad is an emerging institute and once the college moves its permanent campus its going to be a very good institute overall. Right now, the college lacks the infrastructure and some of the facilities. Also, college hasn't got their own bus service for transporting students. They are reliable on public transport. Although they have a tie up now with KSRTC which provides buses in college times.

It is a institute of national importance. Near Bangalore, so better placements. Great upcoming campus. Hubli has a lot of companies and startups. The senior - junior relationship is amazing. Everyone helps you with any problems you have. Good coding environment provides opportunities to explore interests.

This is a institute of National Importance and much better than other private institutes. Quality of education and Chances of getting packages is higher as compared to other private colleges. Ans. One of my friends went for a research internship opportunity in IIIT Kottayam, and this was his first visit to South India. As per my friend’s research domain, he was assigned to the Data Science Research group of Professor Dr. Ebin Sir. He told me that from the very first day, they discussed the project ideas and the timeline to execute their plan. My friend was researching Deep Learning and Neural networks; hence, he was provided GPU access for the huge computation work for the deep neural study. He told me that he was stuck anywhere in this institute (IIIT Kottayam) in his entire internship tenure, not only to his guide Dr. Ebin Sir but also to the other people. The Ph.D. Scholars and Basil Sir of this institute helped him a lot, and with their support and contribution, my friend successfully reproduced an outstanding research paper on his domain. He once told me that the server guy and non-teaching staffs of this institute are amicable. He mentioned two names: Noushad Bhaiya and Jitin Bhaiya; they still have contact with my friend. The mess service is awesome, and the mess guy is conscientious about the student's likings and disliking. The college atmosphere is very calm and pleasant, which is excellent for doing research. So if a student is interested in research work, this institute is suitable enough to carry out their studies, and if they get a chance in this institute, they should not miss this institute.Read more

Ans. IIIT Dharwad is a newly established institute and it will be better not to make high expectations from this institute yet. It is running as a temporary campus at IT Park. Still, things have got little changes as it has permanent faculty, sports ground, labs infrastructure, as it got the mentor-like IIIT Bangalore. You must go for round 2 without any doubt. Because this institute is running in a provisional campus in a free building and the college administration does not have a single penny to pay rent or take a permanent campus. Everything is going on charity in this institute. Infrastructures, lab facilities, hostels, mess, administration, and most importantly, the placement is lagging; in short, all these are very poor. The following table gives a brief overview of IIIT Dharwad, considering its placement process: Criteria IIIT Dharwad Highest CTC 11 LPA Lowest CTC 5 LPA Average CTC 6.5 LPA Students get extremely worst treatment here, specifically in the hostels, as it has no facilities and the mess is completely pathetic. Thus, it is requested not to join this institute, as the college environment is impoverished than any other private institute. College administration is totally frustrated and not even able to run the central Government institute. It is better to select some other private college rather than this IIIT. However, attendance here is very reluctant, which is 85%, but college administration considers the below percentage if the student gives them any excuses.Read more

Ans. According to most reviews, students who are interested in getting into an institute with the IIIT tag can join IIIT Dharwad. There are several positives and negatives about the institute, and a brief overview of them is listed below. The teachers in IIIT Dharwad mostly have average dedication towards the course they are teaching. There are rumors about teachers discriminating among students, and skipping important topics. Students with biology in school really find it difficult to learn coding with this kind of teaching. The laboratories in the institute are yet of average infrastructure. Lab assistants and teachers are not supportive. If you speak Kannada, your life at the campus will be easier. Only the professional communication lab is worth attending. There is a strict system of 85% attendance. The atmosphere inside the campus is not very positive for studying. There is no permanent campus. Classes are held in an IT park, 3.5 km away from hostels and PGs. Every aspect, from internships to placements, needs to be taken care of by you. The engineering life is not worth studying in this institute. No proper fests are organized, and only two clubs are properly established, technical and e-cell. There is a technical fest organized entirely by students but did not receive appreciation from the teachers. Students get stressed both mentally and physically, studying in IIIT Dharwad. Even the brand name does no good for the advancement of students. If you are passionate about engineering, it will be better not to choose this institute.Read more

Ans. After IITs and NITs, students will always prefer IIITs as they offer neck to neck competition to other institutes. IIIT Dharwad being recently established offers stiff competition to other IIITs. All three colleges claim to have placed more than 70% of its students. Facilities like well-ventilated hostel rooms, cafeteria, digital library, and scholarships to different categories. Admission: For admission into IIIT colleges, students need to appear for the JEE(Joint Entrance Exam) mains exams and get a good rank for the same. Admission is purely merit-based. IIIT Manipur has 50 seats for both ECE and CSE branches. IIIT Dharwad has 75 seats in the ECE branch. IIIT Kottayam has 192 seats in the CSE branch and 48 seats in the ECE branch. The required cutoff for the institutes is as follows. Institutes Cut off IIIT Dharwad(ECE) 13762-28330 IIIT Manipur(CSE) 20809-28906 IIIT Manipur(ECE) 27261-32171 IIIT Kottayam(CSE) 15033-25842 Faculty: IIIT Dharwad has a dedicated group of experienced faculty and many are yet to join the institute. IIIT Dharwad: INR 2,10,000 IIIT Manipur: INR 1,87,945 IIIT Kottayam: INR 1,35,000 Placement: IIIT Dharwad showed a decent placement record of 94% in the recent statistics. The highest package offered was INR 11 LPA and the average was INR 7 LPA. Some of the top recruiters were Atria, Code, Greenock, Goldman Sachs, TCS. IIIT Manipur being recently established could place only 17 out of 23 students in reputed companies. Because of the remote location, many corporate companies did not visit. But a surge in admission can be noticed this year. The highest package offered at IIIT Kottayam was INR 10 LPA, and the average was INR 5 LPA. The placement percentage was 75%. All the colleges above are recently established but still provide head-on competition to other institutes.
