The University of Mumbai is one of the oldest and premier universities in India. Mumbai University has 5 campuses, namely, Fort, Kalina, Ratnagiri, Thane and Kalyan. Mumbai University has 742 affiliated colleges, 55 departments with more than 7 lakh students engaged in the teaching-learning process.
Mumbai University offers its correspondence education under the Institute of Distance and Open Learning approved by the Distance Education Bureau, New Delhi. Admission is offered to the first year, second year and third year for all the UG & PG courses. At present, Institute of Distance & Open Learning (IDOL) offers admission to the following programs:
Interested candidates can register for admission to IDOL through the online application process available on the official website of the Mumbai University. The application fee varies from INR 300 to INR 600 for different programs.
Note: In addition to the above-mentioned courses, candidates can also apply for Second Year/ Third Year B.Sc. (Nautical Technology) only through offline mode.

IDOL invites applications for various UG programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management. Admission to these programs is granted on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination.
Candidate needs to have basic eligibility i.e passed 10+2 in the relevant discipline.

The postgraduate programs available at Mumbai University’s IDOL are of 2 years’ duration except for MCA and PG Diploma course which is 3 years and 1 year respectively.
Selection of candidates to all the courses is done on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination except for MCA, which requires a valid score in an entrance examination.
Bachelor’s in a relevant discipline is the minimum eligibility to pursue PG courses at IDOL.

Fee Applicable for Eligibility case:
Government Scholarship is available in some courses for the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/VJ-NT/SBC) students. Those eligible and wish to apply can submit their application through Social Welfare website (for SC/VJ(DT)/NT/OBC/SBC Caste). ST students can apply through Tribal Welfare Dept. website.
