Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial College, Raipur was established in 1963. It is one of the oldest institutions in the state of Chhattisgarh. The college received recognition from Medical Council of India in 1969.

All India Quota

  • Under this quota, candidates are evaluated on the basis of their score in All India Pre-Medical Examination conducted by CBSE, New Delhi.
  • The qualified candidates are called for counselling by the Directorate General of Health Services, Medical Examination Cell.
  • Seats are distributed during this counselling round based on the availability and score secured in the exam.

State Quota

  • Under the State Quota, a candidate must have qualified NEET UG conducted by CBSE.
  • Therfterter, the qualified students need to appear in the online counselling organized by Directorate Medical Education (DME) Chhattisgarh.
  • A merit list will be prepared and displayed on the DME website for selected students based on their rank in the exam.

Key Points (For UG and PG)

  • After allocation of seats, candidates need to submit the scanned documents via an email
  • Upon successful verification, students will receive a confirmation mail from the institute to pay partial tuition fee.
  • This fee can be paid online on the official website. 
  • After payment, candidates will receive a payment receipt or transaction id which they need to submit to the institute

NOTE - All admissions made online will be deemed Provisional, subject to verification of documents at the time of Physical Joining and Medical Fitness at the college.

Ques. Does the college have a hostel facility? 

Ans. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College has two hostels for girls which can accommodate 200 girl students and two hostels for boys which can accommodate 150 boy students.

Ques. Does the college provide scholarship? 

Ans. Scholarships are provided to the students belonging to economically weaker sections . However, there is minimum eligibility criteria for the same.

A candidate has to appear in an entrance exam named NEET, there are two quotas to take admission.One is All India Quota which comprises of 15% seats in all medical college and the other one is state quota which comprises of 85% of seats.To be eligible for state quota one has to have domicile certificate of that respective state one does not need domicile to be eligible for state quota. Counseling for state is done by the state itself and counselling for all india quota is done by a central board. The college is excellent. Its a well established college with top quality facilities.It has very big lecture theatres which is big enough to accommodate 200 students. It has a very big auditorium which can easily accommodate 2000 people.

After 12 by taking PCB in 12th you are eligible for NEET UG. After successfully clearing NEET UG exam according to the merit list you can get admission under MBBS course in this college. There are also reservation which can benefits backward cast.

Remarks :

Overall this is a good college for MBBS No major negative remarks from my side except for some minors 1. Library is not 24×7 2. No swimming pool or Gym. 3. Student elections are not allowed. 4. No major funding for cultural events.
