National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmadabad is considered as one of the premier fashion institutes, established in the year 1961. It offers the best design courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels such as B.Des., M.Des., and Ph.D. in design. The selection procedure for the courses is based on qualifying marks in NID Entrance Test. National Institute of Design offers 8 specializations at the undergraduate level, 19 specializations at the postgraduate level, and many specializations in doctoral programs. The details of the courses and their eligibility are elaborated below:
Course 1: Bachelor of Design (B.Des)

The Institute invites application for several undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. In order to take admission in mentioned courses, candidates will have to appear for NID Entrance Exams - DAT and DRT
DAT ( Design Aptitude Test): This exam is compulsory for undergraduate and postgraduate aspirants. The entrance is further divided into two phases - Prelims and Mains, consisting of objective and subjective questions.
DRT (Design Reseach Test): This exam is compulsory for Ph.D. aspirants. The entrance consists of objective and subjective questions and carries 100 marks in total.
The admission and selection procedures for undergraduate & postgraduate courses are done through DAT (Design Aptitude Test) whereas the admission and selection procedure for doctoral courses is through DRT (Design Research Test).
Fashion aspirants should follow the subsequent steps in order to apply to their desired courses:
Step 1: Visit the official website (http://admissions.nid.edu) and click on the ‘Admission’ tab
Step 2: Register yourself with a valid date of birth, contact number and email id.
Step 3: Enter NID DAT/ DRT Login credentials and fill in the form with required details
Step 4: Upload scanned self-attested documents like photograph, signature, caste certificate, and more
Step 5: Choose nearby examination centers and click on ‘Save and Proceed’
Step 6: Make a payment as per your course and category via credit/debit card or net banking.

National Institution of Design is one of the best institution in Asia for textile and design courses. NID is internationally acclaimed as one of the finest educational institution for textile. It is an autonomous institution. Here students are taught through self exploratory approach.
It was my best shot. I was unsure, and they had a year long foundation course, so I could still make up my mind if this is what I truly wanted. It was a lucky shot, but worth it. Right now, I am doing animation and film design, and the wealth of insight and info I get here is probably most human centric and community based.
Environment is very good and motivating for working. Good space for learning and to try out new things. Good facilities and environment makes it a good and enriching experience overall. The overall schedule is quite hectic.
Haven't done an internship yet. Still they are in contact with the companies that are interested to hire the students of National Institute of Design for their internship periods as well as their diploma projects.
There are a lot of pros and cons about NID, which the pros includes, it has the best faculties from the india, better facilities, campus is really great it has lot of trees and birds, good wifi with a great internet speed, placements are good. And cons includes, some dipartament has less number of faculties, food from mess can be made better.
The placements have not yet started. The college doesn't as such provide internships. It just aids in you finding one. However it is compulsory for you toNgo to an internship after third year, hence the college helps you in getting placed into one. NID promotes paid internships however one can chose to apprentice if they value the learning more.
I can't give such remarks because according to me no one can give such remarks. I can give only good remarks.
