There are 3 subjects in the 1st year, 3 subjects in the 2nd year, only 2 subjects in the 3rd year, and 11 subjects in the final (4th) year, which makes the last year very tough. We need more subjects to be added in the 3rd year, and even in the 1st and 2nd years, so that we have less burden in the final year." A student shared in a review posted to Collegedunia in 2025. ABVIMS: 4 Answered Questions

What should I choose between LHMC, UCMS, and RML?

Sanjana KapoorLives in New Delhi

The best college for you depends on your priorities and goals. First, you need to figure out what exactly you are expecting from your degree and college. My sister had similar options as yours and she was looking for a safe location and easy commute, offering decent social life and good societies. She analyzed the pros and cons of each of these colleges and even contacted the seniors of these colleges. Here is what she derived regarding each college

  • LHMC: The institute is famous for its prime location, brand name, and its safe all-girls environment. Its infrastructure has been renovated recently and its DU tag is very helpful. However, the patient load is less compared to other teaching hospitals in Delhi and if you live close by, you won't be given a hostel room either.
  • UCMS: Being a co-ed college, it offers better exposure, hostel facilities, infrastructure, and an amazing patient load. This college too is under the DU and has some amazing societies and fests. However, its primary drawback is its location which is often considered unsafe, especially for girls.
  • RML: Thistoo is co-ed and has a good location. It is considered to be the best medical college in Delhi after AIIMS and VMMC. Its IPU quota and newly established infrastructure are what sets it apart from the other two colleges. However, being new, it may be lacking in terms of reputation, alumni, and quality of fests.

The academics are almost similar in these 3 colleges, so consider other pros and cons and make a wise choice.

Which college is better, LHMC or RML?

Sabeer Chalana
Tithi AggrawalLives in New Delhi

I don’t know much about RML/ABVIMS, but I can highlight a few points about LHMC-

  • Clinical Exposure- RML offers more clinical exposure for medicine and surgery. This is why half of LHMC postings are conducted at RML. However, LHMC is one of the best in India for Gynae and Paeds. Moreover, LHMC has opened a new academic block, a new OPD block, and new super specialty blocks in recent years. This will increase clinical exposure at LHMC.
  • Infrastructure and location- LHMC campus is small yet beautiful. It is located in CP, and well connected to the rest of Delhi NCR via metro.
  • DU quota- As an LHMC student, you’ll get a DU quota for PG studies in MAMC, LHMC, and UCMS. IPU has a huge number of PG seats, but the competition is quite high.

Both RML and LHMC are top medical colleges in Delhi. As a student of LHMC, I can assure you that our college provides ample growth opportunities.

Should I prefer ABVIMS and Dr. RML above AIIMS Jodhpur and PGIMS Rohtak?

Sapna Malik
Sanjana KapoorLives in New Delhi

As a student of ABVIMS, I find myself eligible to answer this question.

  1. PGIMS Rohtak- It has a very big campus and top-notch infrastructure. The college is well established. However, the location has comparatively less to offer.
  2. AIIMS Jodhpur- It offers the AIIMS tag. However, the location isn’t comparable to Delhi. Moreover, it isn’t on par with Delhi colleges. Getting a PG seat over here is difficult.
  3. ABVIMS and Dr. RMLH:
    1. ABVIMS is located in central Delhi (CP), so all the facilities are easily available.ABVIMS and Dr. RMLH is a brand of its own.
    2. The hospital is big in size, old, and very well-recognized. It is more famous and better than the hospitals of BSA, NDMC, UCMS, PGIMS Rohtak, AIIMS Jodhpur, and even MAMC.
    3. It falls under GGSIPU, so getting a PG seat is much easier than the other two.
    4. The infrastructure contains two new LTs, full-fledged laboratories, a sports complex, two super specialty blocks, etc.
    5. The faculty is picked from VMMC, MAMC, KGMU, LHMC, and ABVIMS itself.
    6. The PG and SS courses are better than those at VMMC, UCMS, LHMC, and even MAMC in some branches.

Which is better out of GMCH Chandigarh, AIIMS Jodhpur and ABVIMS Delhi considering all factors? What are the pros and cons?

Sapna Malik
Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

Among the 3 aforementioned institutes, ABVIMS Delhi seems to be the best choice in my opinion. A few benefits of joining this college are

  • The best part is the PG quota and many students come here for the same reason.
  • ABVIMS Delhi offers an altogether different vibe unlike those colleges reeking of rich heritage.
  • The college has a state-of-the-art infrastructure but believes in old-school teaching methodology.
  • There are interesting on-campus discussions that make the campus lively.
  • The college also enjoys the locational advantage of being located in the capital of India and has many places to explore outside the campus like Talkatora Garden and Sports Complexes, Connaught Place, Patel Chowk, Karol Bagh, Raisina Hills, and much more.

Scoring 189 marks in NEET makes admission to the B.Sc. Nursing program at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh, quite challenging for the general category, as the cutoff is usually much higher. However, candidates from reserved categories such as SC or ST may have a limited chance based on seat availability.

ABVIMS (New Delhi) does not offer a B.Sc. in Radiology. However, its affiliating body, ABVMU, does offer a B.Sc. in Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (BMRIT) through select affiliated institutions like NIMT in Greater Noida.
