Mumbai Veterinary College was established in 1886. It is one of the most reputed Veterinary colleges of Maharashtra being the first institution of Veterinary Science in Asian continent. MVC offers some of the best courses on veterinary science including B.V.Sc and M.V.Sc. Admissions to the UG courses are conducted on the basis of the MHT CET entrance examination and PG admission is done on merit basis. Admissions

  • Admission for the UG courses is conducted on an Entrance Basis of the MHT-CET examination.
  • Post Graduate admissions are conducted on a Merit Basis of the candidate’s score in 10+2 and Graduation. 
  • Applicants to the Ph.D courses who meet the Eligibility Criteria are required to have a valid score in the entrance test conducted by the Institute, those candidates who score above 50% (40% for reserved category) are offered admission. This is followed by the subsequent Personal Interview. 

How to apply?

  1. The interested candidate can apply for admissions offline or offline. They can either collect the application form from the College administrative office or download from the Official website of the University.
  2. Application Fee can be payed via demand draft of Rs. 500, (Rs. 300 for the reserved category), in favour of “Comptroller, MAFSU, Nagpur” payable at Nagpur.
  3. The form must contain details of the academic information such as marks secured in 10th, 12th, graduation and post-graduation and other general information regarding the applying candidate.

  • Copy of 10th, 12th, B.V.Sc and A.H/ equivalent mark sheets.
  • Copy of Provisional B.V.Sc/ equivalent mark sheet (if applicable).
  • Copy of Provisional M.V.Sc/equivalent mark sheet (if applicable).
  • Copy of College Leaving/ Transfer from the last college attained.
  • Copy of Domicile Certificate (if applicable).
  • Copy of CET score card (if applicable).
  • Copy of CET score card (if applicable).
  • Certificate required for additional weightage: -
  1. Copies of Caste Certificate
  2. Copies of Creamy Layer Certificate for VJ/DT (a), NT (b), NT(c), NT (d), OBC and SBC category.
  3. Copy of Certificate of Agriculturist/ Defence Personal/ Freedom Fighter/ Project Displaced Person or Physically Handicapped.

Scholarship

The college provides numerous scholarships for its students. The categories of the scholarship applicable are as follows:

  1. Scholarships provided to candidates from Reserved categories.
  2. College/ University Merit Scholarships.
  3. Scholarships based on the merit awarded by the college to the eligible students.

Facilities

Hostel facility: MVC provides separately supervised hostel amenity for both Boys and Girls. Each hostel comes with its own dedicated warden staff and a watchman.There are 4 boys hostels and 2 hostels for girls.

Library: The college library is well equipped and text and reference books are provided to the students in large numbers. 

Sports facility: The college has an interior court for sports such as badminton, table tennis etc. and a spacious ground with amenities for sports such as football, cricket, and other outdoor sports.

Auditorium: The college provides other facilities such as Auditorium, for cultural events and seminars.

Cafeteria: There is a cafeteria provided for both students and faculties within the premises of campus.

    It's a indeed a good college just have some problems of having two campuses and moving from one campus to another campus is very tidious during summers. And this college established in 1880s so there is some old buildings you can see too in campus.
