IICPT offers Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) for eligible M. Tech students of around Rs. 16000/- per month, at least that’s what I recieved and for eligible Ph. D. students receive Doctoral Research Assistantships (DRA) of Rs. 24000/- per month depending on the funds available in the R&D funded projects.
Fee for my B.Tech in Food Tech program was around 141,000 per annum, which is at par with other engineering colleges. The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college has the Wi-Fi connectivity. Labs are pretty convenient to work in. Classrooms are good and we also had smart class facilities. The library has a plethora of books from different disciplines, Medical facilities are also available in the college.
Sports and games are also conducted and promoted in our college. The food tech expo is one of the main highlights in which people from different places and students from different institute visit to explore different techniques and variety of food products developed in-house.
Campus life is nice and vibrant. Many cultural events are organised throughout the year. The cultural performances are also presented in these events on topics like food wastage and awareness regarding food processing industry. The institute is very determinant towards enhancing the food quality.
Faculty members are highly educated and experienced. Despite having a busy schedule, they still clear our doubts. Industrial visits are part of the course curriculum and all the courses here are affiliated to TNAU Coimbatore. Answer papers go there for correction.
Admission is on the basis of common counseling conducted on the basis of the entrance exam.
There are no placements in our college. Placements were low for our seniors and were not effective. The placement percentage was below 20%. The average salary offered for B.Tech students is Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per month. Companies that visited are Aachi Masala, Naaga, etc.
