Journalism Mentor, Mumbai admit those students only whose motto of joining Journalism is to make a good career in Journalism and not for those who takes journalism as the last option for their career or join it for gaining stardom, etc. The institute carries two programs namely a 14months course (12 mths. + 2 mths. Internship) and a 14 months course where students meet for only 4 times during the full course and for the rest of the time they interact and participate through internet. The institute focuses on imparting education through mentorship. Here teaching is done by the give and take process of question and answers between the students and mentors.

Unique Methodology: The concept of teaching at Journalism Mentor comes from the conviction that a student becomes a proficient journalist only if he or she gets ample and proper mentoring. But in the current environment this process is diminished and to inculcate good values and better education to the students like practiced in the older ways, the institute adapted this method of teaching.
The different curriculum: The curriculum of the institute varies from the other regular colleges for journalism or any other stream. Here, two components are used for mentorship, i.e. knowledge and skills. “Skills” involve the process of gathering information while “knowledge” involves what and why factor of any topic.
