Ques. Which college is best for a B. tech in CSE? CGC Landran, NIET Noida, or LPU?

● Top Answer By Suresh Vishnoi on 20 Oct 20

Ans. NIRF 2020 has ranked LPU at 87, CGC Landran at 201-250 band and NIET Noida at 99 for Engineering. LPU and NIET Noida are affiliated to the University grant Commission and follow the latest course curriculum with practical study and implementation. CGC Landran is affiliated to the Punjab Technical University and its curriculum is slightly outdated which lacks practical study and implementation. Admission: CGC Landran offers admission through JEE Mains. The cut-off for CGC Landran CSE Branch was 6,87,300 rank for all India general category students and 10,90,000 for home state students. Whereas in NIET Noida admissions are provided on the basis of UPSEE Exam, the cut-off rank in 2019 for all India General students was 34,341 for CSE, for OBC it was 55,469. LPU conducts LPUNEST exam for B tech admissions or it also takes admission on the basis of JEE mains. CGC Landran has an annual fee of INR 96,000 whereas NIET and LPU charge about INR 1 lakh to 1.5 Lakh per annum. Campus location and infrastructure: Situated near the Country capital and in Noida, NIET has the best connectivity among the three colleges followed by LPU and then CGC Landran. Infrastructure wise LPU is better and consisting of excellent facilities and computer centres. CGC Landran and NIET Noida also have good infrastructure. Placement: The average package of LPU is 5.4 LPA whereas CGC Landran and NIET Noida have an average package around 3.5 LPA. The highest package offered by LPU was 42 LPA and by CGC Landran was 35 LPA whereas NIET Noida had a lower maximum package of 11 LPA. The placement percentage in all the three colleges are 100% and the colleges are visited by reputed national and international companies. For the CSE course, LPU is a good choice. The other two are also good. The decision should be made by the candidate not only on the above parameters as required but according to the connectivity of the college from the home town and annual fee of the college.Read more

Ques. How is NIET Greater Noida for BTech in Biotechnology?

● Top Answer By Debdeep Majumder on 18 Sept 20

Ans. NIET Greater Noida offers a well-designed 3 year BTech degree program in Biotechnology which is affiliated to AKTU- Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (UPTU). The undergraduate course has a total student intake of 60 annually and observes a high amount of competition every year for admissions. Course Fees and Structure: The total fees for the full-time four-year program are 4.65 lakh and students are also offered multiple scholarships in order to help with funding. The course is spread across 6 semesters with the first three semesters focusing on core foundation subjects like Fluid Mechanics and Bioprocess Engineering. The last two semesters offer industrial training through internships, an open elective specialization, and a compulsory live project based on which students are scored in their final results. The University also organizes multiple seminars, conferences, and workshops in order to help enhance student’s soft skills by conducting personality development and interview technique related informative sessions with leading personalities from the industry. It also offers multiple opportunities to attend workshops related to clinical research, SAS, Bioinformatics, and Virtual labs. Admissions: Students can apply for admissions based on their ranked obtained in UPSEE entrance exams conducted in January every year. Students are also required to have a minimum 60% aggregate score and at least a 45% score in mathematics. Faculty: The faculty employed for the biotechnology program is all academic experts in the field and have years of experience within the field of research and biotechnology. They are mostly IIT or NIT graduates. Placements: It observes a placement rate of 75% while offering an average salary package of 5 to 6 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies are Capgemini, HCL, Cognizant, IBM, Nestle, and TCS. Since biotechnology has been newly introduced as a specialization, NIET sees only a handful of core companies as part of their placement drive. Therefore, it is highly unlikely to receive a job offer through placement within a core biotech company. The Biotechnology department organizes multiple industrial visits throughout the year to companies like Mother Dairy, Yakult, and IIRT Ghaziabad in order to help students understand core concepts and make them industry-ready. The points given above will help students to make a well-informed decision in terms of their choice of college.Read more

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have opted for electronics and communication engineering because it's a subject of my interest. In my current semester (3rd). We have almost 180 students divided into three sections. And there is a total of 24 faculty members in our ECE department. Most of the professors are postgraduates with their respective MTECH degrees whereas rest others have done their PhD in reputed colleges. In terms of teaching the best part is that most of the professors are very engaging and motivating. General idea about the particular subject and current scenarios are taken into consideration while teaching making sure that the students are provided with as much knowledge as there can be. The exams are conducted per semester including internals and practicals. The internal dates do vary as per the situations sometimes but the semester exams dates are always fixed. As per of now there isn't any data stating otherwise, the exams are easy if one pays full attention in the classes.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As computer science is the most demanding branch of the future with maximum opportunities and NIET is giving this opportunity with the best support. There are enough faculties for each branch and even for different pieces of training and labs. Proper faculties are available for other side courses. The ratio fo faculty:student is great. Teachers are highly qualified with many years of experience and teaching method fine. It's not too great but probably much better than other nearby colleges. The internal exams are conducted twice in one semester. They are of the medium level so that with proper preparation any student can pass them.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Well about my college syllabus,i can say it is updated but since study materials are provided by college library we face a lot of difficulty to catchup with updated syllabus as books and other study materials are outdated. And on talking about industrial exposure from our college i will say on basis of my experience a big 'NO'. And yes faculties are good they put there 100% effort to give us right way. But exception are everywhere few of them are also busy in flattering director by praising him in evry class every day. Afterall its a bit though to say whom i like most, but i can say Mrs.Preeti mam was a very good tutor for i think a below average student too.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

As i said, fee is on an average side(90000 inr/yr).you can get scholarships from the AKTU counselling programm (if you secured good rank in AKTU paper). I must say campus placements are not good for a chemical engineering students but for CS/IT students there are lot of opportunities to grab.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I got a good marks in chemistry in 12th class,so i opt for a chemical engineering But as the course passes by i saw it is a whole different feild (not related to chemistry, as i thought),so don't do this mistake as i did.But i can tell you the course is worthy and there is a lot of international demand of a chemical engineer.

I choose information technology because I like to enjoy and development of programs and it is easier to do all things on one computer. Faculty members are good. The fee structure for the college is very affordable and there are many scholarship opportunities for the students, For the first year the fees is slightly higher around 1,30,000, but for other years it's 1,05,000. To pay the fees it's very simple, just use feepal as it's the easiest way to pay the fees, there are different payments like cheque, cash, NEFT, RTGS, etc which are available

Course Curriculum Overview :

Personally I don't like the curriculum and exam structure. There are 3 sessional and then main exams which is same throughout the AKTU. In between 3 sessional, there are atleast 5 assignments and different test are also included, but I also mention that this structure is followed by almost every University. There is no practical knowledge given about today's technology and I believe if the student is not aware today's technology, how you are expecting the student to be fully aware about the future. In my belief the course structure is outdated and is not par worth learning. But that doesn't mean that NIET is not doing anything for their student. The college is conducting different training regarding python, ML, data analysis, deep mining and many more. They are also conducting aptitude classes for their student. The college is committed to their student for providing valuable content to students through online classes.

"Thinking about Getting in NIET"

Cause it has a good ranking in uptu chartboard list. The course is cheaper and better than other colleges, they provide good quality teachers and placements. The only bad thing about my college life is there is a very less or negligible cultural fest and college fests. They only focused on education and placement. Then the social exposure to the students.

"NIET Overall Review"

Study Oriented as well as it was Placement Oriented. The college provide placement as it has promised to the student, but many of the student are not getting the offer letter from the company. Don't know what would be the reason, but overall college is an Average college.
