BBA Hons. is an Under Graduate course in the domain of business and administration that is pursued by candidates after completion of their 10+2 level or equivalent education. It is a three year UG course which is divided into six semesters. Each year of study comprises of two semesters. Mostly colleges demand a minimum of 45% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) at 10+2 including English as a subject of study at plus two level as a minimum eligibility criterion for admission.

The fee for the course ranges from INR 30,000 to around 2 Lacs across various colleges and universities across the country. The variation in fee is based on the location and nature of university (that is government, state/private/deemed etc.).

Admissions to the course is based on Common Entrance Test (CET) mechanism as well as merit-based criteria adopted by certain colleges/universities. In merit-based criteria percentage of marks obtained by candidates at 10+2 or equivalent level is considered for the purpose of granting admissions. However, certain colleges/universities that offer admissions through CET also take 10+2 level marks into consideration

The course is aimed at providing business and administration related knowledge in a manner such that students can relate their academics foundation with the real-life dynamics of business and its administration. BBA (Hons.): What is it about?

Business and administration are two inter-related concepts. BBA (Hons.): Eligibility

Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized state or central Board with at least 45% (40% for reserved category candidates) of the marks with English as one of the subjects.

  • He/She shall not be having any backlog or compartment in any of the Subject/Subjects at 10+2 level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
  • Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria’s which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission.
  • In case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits applicable to them.
  • Most of the Institute give admissions through Common Entrance Test (CET) (like DU-BMS, GSSIPU-BBA etc). To get admissions in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks.

BBA (Hons.) course admission process involves a common entrance test based admission process (as seen across various Universities and colleges in the country) as well as the merit-based selection process. 

  • Most of the Universities/Colleges conduct a common entrance test for admission into BBA (Hons.) courses or take admissions through commonly held entrance exam like BU-BMS, GGSIPU-BBA, NMAT-BBA, SET-BBA etc.  Hence students would have to make an application for such exams.
  • Students have to qualify these exams (for which they should be eligible to appear) in order to get admission in the course.
  • After the conduct of the test, a merit list of finally qualified candidates is prepared and candidates are invited for  admission process by the respective university or college.
  • After admission process final allotment of seats to the candidate takes place and the candidate is asked to deposit the fee for the course and register for the respective academic year.

Admission process would mostly be same across all the B-schools and universities that are offering this course.
