Ques. What course at XIMB is better, rural management or sustainable management?

● Top Answer By Darshan Singh Bisht on 16 Apr 21

Ans. RM and SM are different schools now and are no longer considered XIMB. XSRM and XSoS are now Xavier School of Rural Management and Xavier School of Sustainable Management respectively.  The RM and SM programs come under Xavier University, Bhuvaneshwar. This means that post the convocation, your degree would read “XUB” and not “XIMB”. But you would be happy to know that the faculty is the same and placements are deserving.  You would be exposed to diverse sectors regardless of what course you are pursuing.  If RM and SM are the only specializations for you, it’s then up to you to choose whatever future you would like. Agricultural finance and GIS tagging are some sectors that are in trend these days in the line of either specialization.  Both the courses are equally good and have their own importance. So, it’s all your decision, which field you want to pursue your career in.Read more

Ques. Would you chose Ashoka University or IIM Indore's IPM programme?

● Top Answer By Sarneet Kaur on 12 Jan 21

Ans. Studying at IIM Indore made me realize that Ashoka University, considered a good private institution, might not be the best. IIM Indore is a much better institution. It provides better infrastructure and educational facilities than Ashoka. Their IPM programme is a very career-driven course.  You can look at the reasons as to why IPM offered in IIM Indore is not a bad option -  Placements If we compare the placements of IPM programmes offered in IIM Indore to other universities, IIM Indore has a better record of the average CTC offered. There was a 23.5% rise in terms of the average CTC offered after 2019. Categories Ashoka University IIM Indore Course Fees 21.35 lakh 26 lakh Placement Percentage 80% 100% Highest CTC 23 LPA 50 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA 22.92 LPA Quality of tutoring The professors of the college are extremely talented having excellent academic achievements . Most of the guest lecturers are from the top IITs and NLUs. The faculty of the college in general, is good. Seriousness The college has a high quality IPM programme integrated with PGP. This programme will demand serious time and dedication from you. Therefore, be absolutely sure before choosing this programme. Ashoka University is also good but being a private university there are certain prejudices that it holds. You can choose Ashoka University if you feel that their programme is better.  But IIM Indore has its own advantages. My batchmate who studied in EMLYON business school in France for a term as a French government scholar, found that the programme offered in IIM Indore is equally good and very much similar.Read more
