Eligibility Criteria for B.Ed

The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to B. Ed. are listed below:

  • Successful completion of graduation in any of Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) or Bachelor in Commerce (B. Com.) from a recognized university
  • A minimum aggregate score of 50% in graduation
  • A minimum aggregate score of 55% at post-graduate level

Admission Process for B.Ed

Admission to B. Ed. is done through entrance exam conducted by various states and institutions. Generally, the exam is conducted in the month of May or June and forms for the same are available online at the websites of respective institutes. Admission of candidates is subject to Cut Off released by the respective university subsequent to the entrance exam. 

Distance Mode Admission

The minimum duration for B. Ed. through distance mode is two years, however, the maximum duration is five years. Admission to the distance mode program is merit-based. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate in the undergraduate program in any discipline and 55% in postgraduate program. Along with this, candidates should have trained in-service teachers in elementary education or they must have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education program through face-to-face mode.

    Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. The selection process is usually conducted in the month of September every year. In order to take admission in the course, candidates must appear for the entrance exam. A merit list is then issued by the university which allocates ranks to the aspirants according to their performance. Separate lists are issued for each category and stream followed by counselling process during which students are granted admission.
