Ques. Which university is the best for an ECE B.Tech, PSG in Coimbatore, VIT, Amrita in Coimbatore, SASTRA University, or PES in Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Durgesh Rai on 05 Apr 21

Ans. A friend of mine is doing his Tech in ECE at PSG in Coimbatore, so I have some information about the same.  ECE has a good placement record. In the past, many students got recruited in reputed core companies like CISCO, Intel, Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Juniper Networks, Qualcomm, etc.  There are also many reputed software companies that allow ECE students to appear in the interview.  Cracking the interview round for software companies is quite easy for the ECE students.  Some of the reputed software companies that visit the campus are Hewlett Packard, Oracle, etc.  So, don’t give it a second thought if you are planning to go for ECE at PSG. It is one of the best circuital branches at the institute.Read more

Ques. Should I study ECE at IIIT, Allahabad or IT at BIT, Mesra?

● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 26 Mar 21

Ans. An ECE at IIIT, Allahabad is preferable to an IT at BIT, Mesra. Of course, the choice of the branch is subjective and should be chosen based on our own interests and preferences. But still, a degree at IIIT Allahabad is much more valuable than that of BIT Mesra. The best thing about IIIT, Allahabad is its focus on research and thus will provide you the extra edge over other similar level candidates. The course structure is very focused and you will get subjects such as integrated robotics and many others. IIIT, Allahabad also offers the best facilities to hone your programming skills. The table below will give a few stats of both the institutes. BIT Mesra IIIT Allahabad Average CTC (2019 - 2020) INR 11.76 LPA INR 20.83 LPA Highest CTC (2019 - 2020) INR 49.76 LPA INR 43 LPA NIRF Ranking (2020) 38 103 And then the fee structure of IIIT Allahabad is also much more affordable, 1.65 lakhs first-year fee to BIT Mesra’s 2.85 lakhs first-year fee, compared to BIT Mesra which gives the degree much more value with all the facilities, research opportunities, and placements it has to offer. Thus IIIT Allahabad is favored.Read more

Ques. How difficult is it to change branch from ECE to IT in IIIT-Allahabad?

● Top Answer By Bhavya Rawal on 24 Mar 21

Ans. Well that is neither difficult nor simple. It actually primarily depends on how many students are opting for IT in IIIT Allahabad. It is almost impossible to guess what the cut-offs are going to be. Although there is a tough competition among students who wish to go for IT from ECE and you will have to clear that successfully. How many students in your year are wishing to transfer from IT to EC will also matter in this aspect. Hence, rather than planning and thinking about what the cut off will be, the only thing that you should be doing is working very hard to score the best CGPA in your batch because only that is in your hands. Scoring CGPA above 9 makes it very easy for you to transfer from ECE to IT in IIIT Allahabad. Obviously you should have all the basic knowledge and understanding such as C, C++, Java etc. before you think of switching your branch.Read more

Ques. Which is better NIT Trichy ECE or NIT Calicut CSE?

● Top Answer By Sourabh Kumar on 24 Mar 21

Ans. NIT Trichy is better than NIT Calicut. But the CSE department of NIT Calicut is better than all NITs. The placement of CSE is better. You can choose any course according to your interest.  The following table will give you the basic information of NIT Trichy ECE or NIT Calicut CSE.  Category NIT Trichy NIT Calicut  Fees INR 1.49 Lakhs (1st Year) INR 5.42 Lakhs  Recruiters  HCL, Mahindra, Genpact, Cognizant, Sensiple, Sonata, Wipro, Ramco, Tata Consultancy Services, Zoho, Rivigo, Hexaware  Google, Tata Consultancy Services, Amazon, Infosys, IBM, Oracle, Intel Corporation, Qualcomm, L&T, Microsoft, Cisco, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture Highest Package  INR 40 LPA INR 49.75 LPA Average Package  INR 4.5 LPA INR 11.58 LPA If you are a person who can spend hours before the computer and likes the challenging corporate life then CSE will be a better option for you after the 12th. If you are interested in studying various subjects and then choosing your specialisation, you work hard and are disciplined, then you choose ECE. You can also work on research in DRDO or ISRO.  One of my friends studies in the NIT Calicut CSE department, and students get a decent placement there. The highest package offered to students at NIT Calicut is INR 49.75 LPA while the average package is INR 11.58 LPA. CSE students easily get internship opportunities in good companies which gives them pre-placement offers.  If you are curious about the hostel life of a girl’s NIT Calicut then here are few details.  NIT Calicut hostel rules are strict specifications for first year students. In the first year, 4-5 students will live in one room, second and third-year students get two roommates and final year students get single occupancy.  There are four messes in NIT Calicut, and one of them is pure-veg. Its mess food is better than other institutes such as IITs and NITs. It also has a night mess opened from 9 to 12. Therefore, the NIT Calicut CSE department is good. After you get promoted in the second year, you will start enjoying your campus stay. The campus is also beautiful. The Calicut climate is also good, most of the month it is hot and rains in one semester. So, you can choose CSE if you're passionate about it.Read more
