Ques. Does any core company of electronics and instrumentation visit for placement in IET DAVV?

● Top Answer By Smriti Agarwal on 11 May 21

Ans. Barely any core company visit for B.E. (Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering) students at Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET). Even the Mechanical and Civil engineering students get mostly placed in IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, etc. For E&IE also, software/IT companies give offers.  The institute is known for its IT branch and most of the students from the institute get placed in these IT companies. However, the placement percentage for the branch is decent. According to the placement trends of recent years, almost all students get placed with decent CTC.  The placement statistics of the Electronics and Instrumentation branch at IET in recent years are as follows.  Average Placement INR 6 LPA Average Placement for all Electronic Branch INR 3.5 LPA Highest Placement INR 20 LPA Placement Percentage 70% Top Recruiter IBM, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, NUCLEI, VMWARE, Capillary, DXC, Eco Ware, AmDocs, Incture, Prism Cement, and many more. Hope this gives you an idea about the placement scenario of the Electronics and Instrumentation branch at IET DAVV.Read more

Ques. Should one go for EIE at RV college of engineering?

● Top Answer By Satyam Singh on 29 Apr 21

Ans. The short answer is Yes. If EIE is your interest and you want to build your career here then there is no reason to stop. My brother is an alumnus from RV College of Engineering, and here’s why you must definitely go for it. If you are good at academics and really into your subject, you will get good placements.  For the 2019-20 batch, the department observed 84.09% placements. A total of 37 students got placed among 44 students.  The college has a good reputation and history hence, good companies visit there for placements.  Any branch will get you a good placement especially CSE and IT. No doubt it’s the same scenario in every institute. The table below shows the placement statistics of EIE at RVCE: Highest Salary INR 13 LPA Average Salary INR 6.25 LPA Minimum Salary INR 3.6 LPA Placement Percentage INR 84.09% All in all, if you give your 100% in any branch, you are most likely to get placed. Though the intake of EIE is quite low, all matters are your interest. In most cases, if you have a good rank in entrance exams then you can get EEE in BMSCE or MSRIT with the same rank. However, if your interest lies only in EIE, then don’t give it a second thought.  Read more

Ques. Which one to choose: NSIT's ICE (instrumentation and control eng) OR IIIT UNA CSE?

● Top Answer By Simran Arora on 01 Apr 21

Ans. Firstly, you should know that IIIT UNA is a new college and although it has the IIIT tag, it hasn't been ranked by any esteemed Ranking platforms like NIRF. Its classes are also facilitated by NIT Hamirpur's faculty and the campus and faculty are nice.  As far as NSIT is concerned, it ranks #76 on the NIRF ranking portal for engineering and has a better location in Delhi than Hamirpur, because of the facilities and professional opportunities available.  Here are some more pointers to help you understand better - If your interest lies in the program rather than the institute, then go for CSE. Although first reflect on the placement scenario of IIIT UNA, whether they receive good companies or not; if the package is satisfactory, and if speedy placements are facilitated after the course is over. When you take a look at NSIT, then you should know that you'd be able to build a good career as a software engineer with the ICE program, but the management will be a little difficult because of the delicate balance between coursework and developing your programming skills. Most ICE alumni are now pursuing MBA or working other non-technical jobs. For non-tech, NSIT offers better opportunities. Here's a table on the placement scenario- Parameters IIIT UNA CSE NSIT Instrumentation Placement Rate 90% 85% Average Salary INR 6 LPA INR 6 LPA Highest Salary INR 12 LPA INR 50 LPA Top Recruiters IBM, Reliance, Analytics Quotient  Brain, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart Lastly, decide according to your future goals and whether you'd like to pursue CSE or instrumentation.Read more

Ques. Which is better, Electrical at IIT Mandi or ENI at BITS Pilani?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 31 Mar 21

Ans. As IIT Mandi is a semi-new IIT and BITS Pilani is a much older institute than IIT Mandi, so it has better infrastructure and facilities than IIT Mandi. But within a few years, IIT Mandi will develop as a better institute and will provide much better facilities and infrastructure.  As of now, the placement scenario for EE is not that different for BITS Pilani and IIT Mandi. For BITS the average package is around 8.2 LPA and the average package of IIT Mandi is around 7.5 LPA.  The status of these new IITs are growing very fast and have been living up to its expectations of being an IIT, and are achieving much fame and recognition that no other institute has ever achieved during its initial years. So choosing an IIT will always be a safe option.Read more

Ques. Which is better, taking EI in SGSITS or E&TC in IET-DAVV?

● Top Answer By Sukalyan Majhi on 30 Mar 21

Ans. Some of the facts are listed below to help you understand which one is better in taking admission. SGSITS has its brand name. No one even knows about the institute about IET-DAVV; generally, the students who are staying outside of Madhya Pradesh. There are not enough differences in the syllabus of these two institutes. And for this reason, you have to study yourself to perform better. If you want to pursue higher studies, then seats are limited in the good colleges for instrumentation. For this reason, the candidate number is also less. Thus, you have a preference to alter your stream for higher studies. One of my friends has told me that many people studied very hard and appeared in GATE although they have studied opted EI in B.Tech. If you are looking for placement, then DAVV is the best. This institute always has better placement statistics than the other one that is SGSITS. My friend also told me that in DAVV, most of the students from E&TC, despite EI, are preferred by the recruitment companies. In the following, the placement statistics of these two institutes are highlighted. Criteria SGSITS IET-DAVV Highest CTC 33-32 LPA 32 LPA Lowest CTC 11 LPA 12-14 LPA Average CTC 15-16 LPA 19.9 LPA Placement Statistics 90% 90% If you have not so many ideas about the stream and do not aware of the institutional tag; then it is better to choose E&TC in DAVV. Besides, if you are considering these two institutes, then both are quite similar in terms of academics. However, E&TC also has many other fields in the future, so that the job opportunity might be expanded. Hence, it will be best to go for E&TC over EI.Read more

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am very much interested in learning about instruments and Also we have a chance of getting placed as well as core and also in its companies. The faculty: student ratio is 1: 15, for 15 students there will be 1 faculty so they can easily concentrate all the students individually. All our department teachers have completed a doctorate and also have teaching experience of more than 15 years. As in the other engineering college, we too have the same type of exams but it will feel very easy to score good marks as the teachers will guide you in a way That the questions paper will look easy.

Campus Life :

Our college will conduct a symposium for each and every department in order to encourage the students and their innovative ideas. As our college has the biggest library and it is situated in the Billgates block where you can find almost all the books we need. They will provide rooms with better air conditioning and also with projectors to get a better understanding of the topics. There are many clubs and other occasional courses like rotary clubs, NSS, etc.

Colleges in Bangalore are known for their fests. DSCE has a huge intercollege fest called Furore every year with celebrities as guests like Rashmika mandhana. There are fests like vibration for the students of DSCE too with celebrities as guests again. There is a big college library with a large collection of E books as well as other books available. Classrooms are very comfortable and spacious and well ventilated along with all the fans and lights working properly. There are a lot of sports played in DSCE like baseball, cricket, football, basketball, volleyball etc. and there are college teams for these sports as well. There is a club for everything, may it be drama, dance, singing, art, literature, science, aviation etc. Students of DSCE are very active in these clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Electronics and instrumentation eng. as my course because of a few seniors who asked me to take that course, later I researched and found out that it is one evergreen field with enormous opportunities kiin the future, may it be AI, ML, Robotics or any other field which is going to be in great demand in the next 5 years from now can be taken up through the knowledge in this course. The number of students is around 50 in my branch and there are more than 15 teachers, each of them who is a master in their fields. The faculty members are highly educated and professional, and a few of them have a great way of teaching. Internals were taken regularly each month along with some class tests in between, thus everything is sorted.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fees are quite handsome but all private colleges have similar fee structures. The yearly education fee is around 2.45 lacs and the hostel fee is around 1.30 lacs for non Karnataka students or the students who got admission through COMEDK. The ones who got admissions through KCET(only for the students residing in Karnataka) have very few hostel fees, which is around 35 k. Underprivileged students do get a little assistance and scholarships from the college, but not always. I am a 2nd year student so I don't have a job or an internship yet.
