Ques. Which is better, IIIT, Vadodara for IT or IIIT, Guwahati for ECE?

● Top Answer By Amit Khanna on 14 Jun 21

Ans. You have to decide based on the field in which you are passionate. There is not much difference in the curriculum framework since both are IIITs.  In your first year, you will be studying the same core subjects be it IT or ECE branch.  In your second year, IIIT Guwahati offers a lot of research opportunities if you are into it.  You have a chance to opt for a project matching your field of interest out of numerous ones in the lot.  You will be allocated under a professor who will guide you out throughout the process. Students at IIIT Guwahati have won numerous techno competitions not only in India but globally.  Few research papers from the institute have also got recognition globally. Entire campus is facilitated with a high-speed internet connection.  College even encourages its students to actively participate in extracurricular activities.  There are various programming clubs which conduct seminars where top national and international guest lecturers are invited.  Hostel facility is pretty decent too.  The food offered at the campus is amazing, apart from that you also have 24*7 canteen facilities. Categories IT at IIIT Vadodara ECE at IIIT Guwahati Course Fee 7.83 lakh 9.05 lakh Highest CTC 28 LPA 50 LPA Average CTC 6 LPA 10 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS, IBM, Infosys, Capgemini, etc. Tata, JP Morgan, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. You even have an opportunity to change your branch based on your performance in your first and second semesters at IIIT Guwahati which makes the course really flexible.Read more

Ques. What is a better option between IT at IIEST Shibpur and ECE at NIT Jamshedpur?

● Top Answer By Shikhar Shrivastava on 11 Jun 21

Ans. One of my friends is a local of Jharkhand. He was eligible to get into all departments and ECE at NIT Jamshedpur except CSE, and he got into the same situation where he had to choose between IT at IIEST Shibpur and ECE at NIT Jamshedpur. He chose IT at IIEST Shibpur and was satisfied with his decision. IIEST has a good campus which is given the INI tag, their seniors are also very good who motivate their juniors. In the following table, you will get information on IT at IIEST Shibpur and ECE at NIT Jamshedpur. Category IIEST Shibpur NIT Jamshedpur Fees INR 71000 INR 7.16 Lakh Recruiters  BHEL, Wipro, Axis Bank, Indian Navy, Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Google, etc. Amazon, Deloitte, Bajaj Auto, Wipro Turbo, Vedanta, etc. Lowest package  INR 2.53 LPA INR 3 LPA Highest package  INR 40 LPA INR 30 LPA Completed with a good campus, great seniors, and recently been given the INI tag, it has the energy and enthusiasm to excel and the Director of IIEST is a great person. He works hard to improve the place. Many of my friends study at NIT Jamshedpur. It has a good infrastructure but not in better condition. Newly constructed hostels at NIT are also good. But officials of NIT are not promising. Therefore, IIEST Shibpur is a better choice as it will give you many opportunities and give you a better experience. Read more

Ques. Which is easier, EEE or ECE at NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Tanushree Sen on 10 Jun 21

Ans. I have a few friends at NIT Surathkal and based on the conversation I had with them, I will say at NIT Surathkal, ECE is considered to be the toughest branch.  The academics and research are taken very seriously in the department.  The professors are demanding and highly qualified than other departments.  In this department everyone, from HOD to lab assistants, everyone is serious about studies and making a point about academic rigor.  The exams are also very tough and students even fail in lab examinations too.  But the scenario at the EEE department of NIT Surathkal is slightly different and its biggest advantage is that it has a relaxed attendance policy, unlike other branches. The recent placement statistics for the branches are as follows. Branch  ECE  EEE Average CTC 8-9 LPA 5 LPA Highest CTC 24 LPA 30 LPARead more

Ques. How is the placement of ECE at MAIT IPU?

● Top Answer By Kritika Patil on 10 Jun 21

Ans. One of my cousins is an ECE graduate of BVCOE (IPU). Here are her two cents about the placement at the institute.  Placement records of MAIT IPU are quite good. However, it depends on whether you want to pursue a core ECE job or an IT job focused on programming. It means, obtaining a core ECE job would be quite difficult because there is little to no company that would offer a core job on the campus placement.  Although, if you are looking for placement in an IT company, then your chances of acquiring a good placement are fairly on the positive side.  More essentially, nearly everyone gets a placement, if they are from the background of CSE, IT, or ECE branch. It is because they are usually considered more competent to fit in IT firms such as TCS, Infosys, and several others.  The average package has been recorded to 3.50 LPA whereas the highest salary is 28 LPA. Thus, if you have scored 70% or above with no backlog history, then the chances of you obtaining a job in any IT company are good. In addition, if you are good with programming, then your chances of getting placed in top IT companies will considerably be more.Read more

Ques. Which is better, IIIT Lucknow for CSE or NIT Patna for ECE?

● Top Answer By Anuj Singh on 10 Jun 21

Ans. I have friends studying at both IIIT Lucknow and NIT Patna, and according to their first-hand experience, IIIT Lucknow is the better choice here. Here’s what you need to know.  Curriculum: IIIT Lucknow has a great curriculumin terms of syllabus, classes, and coding culture. The competitive environment drives you to excel in every field. Facilities: You will get high-tech facilities in IIIT Lucknow designed for engineering and coding. Events like Hackathons and other tech fests are equivalent to IIIT Allahabad. Placements: My friend who completed his B.Tech from IIIT Lucknow experienced that your placement highly depends on how much you use online videos, courses to excel in your respective branch. Overall you need to be active and focus on improving your skills which might help you grab decent job packages. Moreover, the highest CTC recorded to 43 LPA while the average CTC is 18.4 LPA. Check out some of the reasons why you shouldn’t choose NIT Patna.  Poor infrastructure: Unfortunately, the institute is not making much effort to improve facilities, organizing tech events. This is because they are currently focusing on the construction of the new campus of NIT Patna at Bihta near IIT Patna which is bound to be completed by 2024. Poor accommodation: You will have to adjust to double or triple seater rooms because you won’t get a single-seater room in all of your 4 years. Also, the PG options are not good in the surrounding area. Poor mess food: Just like the infrastructure, the Hostel Mess Committee is too reluctant to improve food quality in spite of knowing everything. Also, you won’t get any good quality restaurants nearby or any online food ordered after 10 pm. Outdated curriculum: Institute is still following the old curriculum and has outdated labs. Even the Classrooms are too outdated with broken benches and no Projectors are used to teach. Lack of extracurricular: There is a lack of proper clubs, sports facilities, tech-fests, and coding culture. Overall, ECE at NIT Patna is not a good option. Go for CSE IIIT Lucknow any day for a great curriculum, great facilities, great location, and great placements. Also, the CSE branch gets you more chances of better placements in most colleges in India.Read more

Course Curriculum Overview :

Faculty members are ok, to be honest really not good at all, We've approximately 25 faculty members as per I can remember and among 4 years and 300+ students, within which 6-7 professors are really good and you will eventually find their classes interesting, but rest of all are boring. Laboratory facilities are decent, we've always seen a delay in publishing exam results. Exams aren't that hard, if you cope up with what is taught in your class as well as the previous year's question papers you can easily pass with a decent gpa. We have 2 internal exams each of 30 marks from which 50% that is(30+30)/2= 30 + end sem exam of 70 marks are evaluated. For laboratory, it's also of 100 marks 20 for attendance+ 50 for lab reports+ 30 for viva.

Campus Life :

Multiple fests are conducted, srijan is the annual tech fest, which is so much famous, also different departments arrange their fests which are decent. Annual tech fest is really something else, I can't express my feelings really. Whenever we have a boring class we go to the ground and have a couple of cricket or football matches. We've 2 libraries one is departmental which is sufficient for us , also there is a central library with Lacs of collections. You can join a numerous clubs according to your interest, sports club, science club, code club, debate, drama, dance, photography club and so on.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Taking part in counselling through wbjee portal you're charged rs.5000, upon taking admission to Jadavpur University it only charges rs 710 for the first 2 years and for 3rd and 4th year rs 2450 each, a total around 11000 rupees, which is the cheapest around the world I guess. Also, there's a scholarship provided here if you're family income is below 2.5 LPA, fees that are rs. 10000 will be given back. If you get an internship you'll be earning 20k-80k / month for 2 months and for job it maybe average of 5-6 lpa I guess.

Campus Life :

Trinity is the main fest which goes round the campus and everyone seems excited about the one. It is conducted around mid march where in each department competes against each other through different games, events and earn points and one who has the highest wins at the end of the fest. Library is also a great place, we can find each and every books, it be any journals, reference books or any books to read. It has great spacing for sitting and silence is quiet maintained in here. Classrooms are equipped with projects, smart-boards, AC's and benches with quiet a place and proper ventilation.

Remarks :

Good-It is a renowned college in the area.It has a good campus placement. The college environment is great here. The facilities like lift, laboratories, classrooms, canteens are well maintained. The campus is quiet a huge. It has hygiene maintained all the year round. Also recently it has became autonomous which is the only main driving factorBad-The staff down the office are quiet rude always. The college has no ground for its own for tournaments, fests and other activities. Canteen food is no good. only two lifts and everytime you have to be in a queue to use it

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure includes tution fee, exam fee, library fee, gym fee and other basic fees. overall everything is quiet reasonable except a part they take for campus is one that should be not be taken from students. scholarship is none other than state scholarship however they encourage students to fill the forms and go through the process. there are no other financial assistance from the college provided to the students. Campus placement was not so great however i ended up placed for a mass recruiter company with 3 lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I've chosen my course as it is the future so I can get more chances to get knowledge and I can also have a chance to do something new in this field as there is no deficiency of sources in this stream. And another reason is that I've done my diploma engineering in the same stream so for further studies it'll be easy for me. The teachers are allocated according to the subject to be studied in the course. And according to the admissions done or the students having backlogs and those who have changed the stream. So overall ratio of faculty: student is good there is always help from the faculties of students faces the problem. And there is another staff also available like lab mentors and some helpers for department separately. The teaching staff is well graduated for their colleges and universities. They can provide us with the level of knowledge which we require in the current world. Their teaching method is also good now in the lockdown time they have preferred the online mode for conducting lectures.

Campus Life :

There is an annual festival held in college and some technology-based fests. Technology-based fests are more likely to be held department wise and the main fest is held once a year in the 2nd semester of every year. And the tech fest is done depending on the departments. There plenty of books available in the central library as there is an online library is also available. There is a big study hall where tables and chairs are provided for students to do their studies and which open every time. The facilities provided in the library are enough for students to make an environment suitable for studies. And also some facilities of the classroom are good enough. There is projector is placed in the classroom which makes studying more better. Labs are also fulfilled with the facilities. There are many sports events are conducted in college. Sometimes they are also department wise done. There is a photography club, sports club are also in college which helps students in their fields.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible after the third and last year of college for placements. After the third year, there is the training of students is started for getting placements. Multinational companies like Tata consultancy services, Infosys, Capgemini, Wipro and other national-level companies have visited our college. They made an offer accordingly. For which the knowledge of candidates and eligibility matters. The highest packets I've heard is 6.5 lakhs per annum which is not less in now time. Depending upon the profile of the candidate company offers the placements to students. There is the average amount of students compared to other institutes are placed every year in companies and the off-campus placements are in huge amount. I've planned to get some job as a starting income and after time lapses I can apply for the external courses with a job like that I can gain knowledge also and the salary for uses so can be little independent on mine.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose communication as at that time it was the most thriving and on-demand field. Very good faculty members with 1:60 ratio and most of the faculties know each student personally, their strength, and weakness. Faculties were well qualified with a few having Ph.D. in their respective fields and most were still doing their Ph.D. Exams were always conducted in time and the exam pattern was moderately difficult for students to crack, so we had to prepare Thoroughly with full know-how of the concepts. Exams were conducted by Pune University

Campus Life :

Annual fest was conducted in the month of September with equal zeal on cultural, educational, technical, and sports activities. All the students were encouraged to participate and take an active part in the fest. Technical students were guided to innovate new gadgets or software by faculties. Books and journals were available in the library for our help.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees were nominal about Rs. 40,000 per year at our time. I had not applied for any scholarships or financial assistance. Regarding jobs, almost all multinational and good companies came for campus selection. We got a number of opportunities to select our preferred company and field of work.

Campus Life :

The campus is too good and campus life is much amazing and joyful. There's everything that we need on the campus itself. Nobody ever needs to go outside of the campus for buying anything at all. Also, there are many trees and plants which makes the environment more Joyous.

Placement Experience :

Our college is one of the top colleges which guarantees 100% placements in the campus almost 90% of eligible students get placed every year in our college. I'll surely recommend this college to those who are seeking a bright future ahead.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Actually, I wanted to choose CS but due to the unavailability of seats, I took for E&TC. Faculty too is good and cooperative. Teaching is actually a top class. The teachers explain all concepts clearly. The exams were good and also easy.

The annual fest that we have is Alacrity. It is in February. There are also departmental events. These are in September. The library has all sorts of books but the no of books is limited. Sports are played. Extracurricular activities like field visits.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees per annum are around Rs 100000. The fee hike is about Rs 5000 a year. (Not every year though.) Hence, Rs 400000 for 4 years. There are a lot of scholarships that you can avail. The scholarships are of EBC, other govt scholarships.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This course is relevant in today's world where u cannot do without electrical and electronic gadgets. Also, the reviews that I got about my college were good. The no of students in each class is 60. The faculty is highly qualified.

Campus Life :

This is the main attraction of the college, to be honest. The college has an avid social life with a ton of events going on all the time. Technically events, non-technical events everything under the same hood. We have an open-air theatre called the OAT the experience of which cannot be explained with words. There is dancing there is music, there is mechanics there is robotics, there is everything that you can on the face of the earth. There are multiple playgrounds in the college. There are a total of 7 canteens, which is where most people sit down to relax over a cup of tea. There is the green zone, there is the World View. There are multiple clubs which you can enrol for, the photography club, the chess club, the literary society, the painting club, the science club, to name a few. The Sanskriti Festival and Srijan are big names when it comes to events in Kolkata. Big-time music bands like the Indian Ocean, AsWeKeepSearching, Distorted Chromosomes have performed here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is well structured. There is a lot of subdivision associated with each topic and it leads to thorough coverage of one's knowledge base. The faculty is highly qualified, but as mentioned earlier quite unorganised and carefree. If one isn't concerned it's easy to lose themselves in the vast array of activities that you'd be engaged in. But overall, keeping what you pay in mind, it's a no-brainer and a definite yes.

Placement Experience :

The placement here is another factor that people are very interested in. In the department of Electronics and Telecommunication, the average salary is around 10LPA while the highest goes up to as much as 32 LPA. Around 85-95% of the students get placed. Overall fantastic placement and having paid only Rs 11420 for the entire course, the Return on Investment is bold.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees hike is nearly 3% and cost to study is almost 20,000 per year as if we take classes but if we won't take any class then it is nearly 10,000 per year including canteen as of mine. You can apply for EBC scholarship if your family income satisfies the criteria. I got a job in sequretek company.

Remarks :

It's a very good college with good faculty, good teaching style, good support, good campus. Everything is good here but the office staffs are bit late here which leads me to give them 4*s our of 5*.The overall reasons to select this college was placements are also nice.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Very good faculty and their teaching style is awesome. Faculty to student ratio is 1:55/60.term exams are always challenging for students but Faculty always try to teach that way so that we shouldn't find it difficult to crack.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Actually, I was applied for computer engineering but that branch was not allocated to me. I did not know much about engineering in those days. But most of the friends want to do engineering so I chose engineering. The faculty-student ratio may be 1:20. Hardly 1 or 2 faculty had completed Master's when I was a student. The maximum qualification was BE. No one had completed Phd in my graduation 2007-2011 except Principal Sir. Upto second year it was easy to pass the unit test because the test conducted during the class only. But after the Third-year unit test was also conducted like the final exam. Most the time syllabus was not completed so I used refer reference books to study the syllabus. Final exam was always tough as no fixed marks scheme is not there for each subject. So It was difficult to pass

Campus Life :

Annual Fest Name was Kshitij that was conducted in March i.e. in even sem. Techfest name was Evoluation. In even semester three major event was held 1) Sports 2) Techfest and finally Kshitij. We were eagerly waiting for Kshitij. It was 2 Day program. In the first Day dinner was held for all student. We have very nice memories in annual fest. Libray was always full of books . At least 10 copies ma be available for each reference book. Some standard journals are also available like IEEE transaction journals in the library. No extra amenities are available. In my department, I think one projector might be available. We were waiting for the festival and that is sports. Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Cricket Box Cricket all were included. I was playing only Cricket for my class. I didnt know about any social group.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

During my graduation fees were constant per batch. The example for my batch fees was 30000/- RS for the open category and that remains constant per year. so no hike in the fees. Except for college fees around 20k per year may be the cost of study. No campus placement. No additional scholarships for students from college except government scholarships. But for each year topper of the college was awarded with NITESH-NILESH award. For FE topper prize money was 5K, SE -10K, TE-15K and for BE-25 K and also for GS and best student award.

The college holds its annual fest called VERVE which is a week-long cultural fest with varieties of events to participate in. The doesn't conduct a full-fledged technical fest but every year the IEEE student branch conducts a mini technical fest for the college with competitions ranging from quizzes to competitive coding. The college has a good collection of books and a decent reading room. The classrooms have enough space to occupy the entire batch with centralized AC for cooling and lecture recording enabled in many classrooms. The college holds its intra-college sports tournaments every year for students to participate in a variety of sports activities. The college has its own sports complex. There are around 20 student committees on campus for students to participate like the IEEE, CSI, CESA, NSS, ITSA, IETE, etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The overall fee for an entire year is around 1,35,000 for the General category which includes around 1,20,000 Tuition fees and the rest as the exam, development, and university fees. The scholarships are available based upon the Merit/ Category/ Economy which decreases the fees by about 50-75% the college has its own scholarship department which guides the students through the scholarship procedure. There are various merit-based scholarships provided by the college which involves a full tuition fee refund for students with an average of 9.8 pointers for the entire year. Financial Assistance is provided for the economically weak class under the EBC scheme. Most of the campus jobs offer salaries in the range of 3.5-8 LPA which few foreign offers of 35-40 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Electronics and telecommunication department is NBA accredited which speaks for itself the quality of teaching. The number of teachers is enough to handle the number of students, rough there is around 40 teaching staff for the Electronics and telecommunication department for around 600 students which turns out to be 1 faculty for every 15 students. Almost every profession has at least done their masters and over a dozen of the teaching staff have completed their PhD. The teaching is quite good with regular unit tests and assignments, the term exams are regular and quite easy to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course curriculum that we follow is from Pune university and it good not very impressive but okay okay. Although the best thing is that they have an induction program before starting with the main course in which many different speakers come to guide you with college life and its perks and it lasts for 15 days. Talking about the faculty members, The first years' teachers are not good and the teachers are of the MSC qualification for the first year only. I chose Electronics and Telecommunication because it has mixture and flavour of many other branches such as Computer-Science, Electrical and Information-Technology and you can sit for any of the placements. The semester is of 6 months, it isn't much hard to pass studying for just 15 days before the exam will also give you a decent result. Only some teachers are friendly and many others are of the old fashioned type only focusing on the marks and attendance. But overall not very good teacher is available in the college.

Campus Life :

The campus life is good although not much area to roam around the advantage is that the college is in the main city so you can go out for chilling. There are two main fests which are really great and amazing, that is ASHWAMEDH and SHIVANJALI both the events are of great importance and are magnificent. Most of the books are available in the library including many magazines and newspapers with free wifi but only in the library and not the campus. the library has quite a space for studying with an extra reading hall. Classrooms Amenities are really poor as most of the projectors don't work and the benches are also very old and not very comfortable. The classroom doesn't have a staircase bench system and has only one auditorium which is not very big to hold enough spectators. The sports activity and opportunity is quite good and the college has many social clubs such as drone club, media club co-curricular club, music club, resonance club, dance club and many more.

Placement Experience :

The college does not provide the details of what package did the student received an only gives details of the number of companies that came for the placement and how many students got placed. Although the placement is not very good as the average package is said to be around 4lack per annum. The students are allowed to sit for the placement only after the 6th semester. About 60-70% of students get placed as claimed by the college. Many known companies do come to the campus placements such as AMAZON AWS, TCS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, TECH-MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, HP-INVENT, IBM, SANDVIK, ATLAS COPCO, CASTROL, GODREJ, ICICI BANK, JCB, L&T INFOTECH, LOREAL, MAHINDRA, SIEMENS, TRIVENI, ZENSTAR, BITWISE, ATOS, AMAZATIC, SKF, KPIT CUMMINS, FORBES MARSHAL etc. After my degree, I am planning to go for the government sector such as Indian Engineering Service, Combined Defence Examination, UPSE, AFCAT and other technical government exams.

Campus Life :

The campus is very nice. Small but is very peaceful. The fests organized in college are very interactive and have the involvement of all students. They give everyone an opportunity to explore themselves and see what they can do best with. We have Open Area Cafeteria, where Group discussions are done and the food is not costly. It has a big library and study room where you can either study or read books make notes. They provide WIFI in hostels and libraries. We have proper facilities to play any kind of sport we want. We have many clubs like music club, nature club, and various other good clubs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are not very high considering that it is a private institution. They keep increasing fees every year, but it is worth investing in such a good institution. - Good companies like Credit Suisse, Nasdaq, Deutsche Bank, COMMVAULT come on campus and give good placement. Many students take good off-campus placements. The highest package is 40 LPA in Microsoft. Off-campus companies include Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and many more good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculty members are well experienced. The curriculum is not very good but also not too poor. Most of the faculty teachers have qualified from SPPU and many have higher degrees like MTech and PhD. The exams are of two types 1. MCQ Type 2. Written Type of 50 marks each and score is cumulated and converted into SGPA. The level of questions in examinations is good. It's not very easy to pass the examination.
