Ques. How is IIIT Vadodara for a Btech in CSE/IT?

● Top Answer By Veda Burman on 15 Apr 21

Ans. Many students claim that IIIT Vadodara is not a good option. And here are some of the facts that explain the reason. It is important to do BTech in branches like CSE or IT from a well reputed college as the recruiters value the degree only if it is from a well reputed institution. IIIT Vadodara was started back in the year 2013 and no infrastructure work has been started for the actual campus in Vadodara. Since the past few years, the institute had PDPU high rise as the hostel which was very good, it had big rooms with attach bathrooms. But this contract ended in the year 2019 and thus the new hostel has been displaced at Sabar institute of technology which is located in a completely remote area. You will miss out the enjoyment part of your college. Sabar institute of technology is 31kms away from the college. It takes around 50 minutes to travel by the bus provided by the college to reach there. This process is stressful. The class hour is from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The students can’t attend any thing irrespective of their college hour as the college is in a remote area and there is no means of transportation. There is not even cab facility available in that area. Even for travelling to railway station and airport, the means of transportation is very hard to find. So, you should look for better options, if you have any.Read more

Ques. Which is better, the IT branch in NIT Raipur or the CS branch in IIIT Surat?

● Top Answer By Dhruv Kaushik on 22 Mar 21

Ans. If you are interested in studying Computer Science or Coding, then you can take admission in IIIT Surat. In the following several comparisons between these two institutes are listed. Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) IIIT Surat is based on the Private and Public Partnership that is PPP. It gets funds from the Government of India, the State Government of Gujrat, and some Industry Stakeholders. The brand name of IIIT Surat is quite similar to IIT, additionally with the national tag. IIIT Surat offers admission only in the core branches of Information Technology: ECE and CSE. These two branches also offer high salary packages, so that student here gets higher CTCs than the students of NITs. It recommends a learning environment to the advanced syllabus that any other nationalized institute like IITs and NITs in EC and CS. Lastly, this institute has great demand as it follows the inclination towards the development of Digital India; thus, the job opportunities in IT sectors will be increased shortly. National Institute of Technology (NIT) The top engineering colleges in India are IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), as it has the brand name of “Indian”, while NITs have a “National” Tag. Rather, NITs offer admission in most engineering branches, which are not available in IIITs. Thus, it can be mentioned that IIITs are the best than NITs, specifically if the students want to establish their career in Electronics and Computer Science. Rather, for other branches, NITs are good, without any doubt.Read more

Ques. I have a choice between IT (Information Technology) in NIT, Surathkal and CS (computer science) in RVCE, Bangalore. Which one would be a better choice in terms of placements, Brand name etc.?

● Top Answer By Rhythm Jain on 22 Mar 21

Ans. Between the options, you should choose NIT Surathkal IT. Here are the reasons why.  The syllabus difference between IT and CSE is not so much in this institute. The placement process in the institute is exceptional, specifically for the circuit branches, including IT, CSE, ECE, and EEE. However, in the last year, students are recruited by Google and Microsoft. NITK has its own brand name. Maybe it is an NIT, but the students here get a lot of exposure. JEE Mains toppers mainly take admission in this institute every year. You will have to stay here in the hostel, which provides a good experience for them. During the tenure of the course, you will learn how to take care of yourself. Also, if your hometown is Bangalore, then you can frequently visit home.Read more

Ques. Should I prefer IEM Kolkata IT or Heritage institute technology ECE?

● Top Answer By Rishikesh Kumar on 22 Mar 21

Ans. Doing BTech from a WBUT college is not going to help you much with anything. I know a number of Heritage ECE graduates working in software companies. Also, very few IEM ECE graduates get a core-sector job from the campus placement. If you want to pursue higher studies, choose a stream you are interested in. IT and ECE both are good options. These two branches even have many topics in common such as Circuit Theory, Control systems, Microprocessors, DBMS, Data Structure, Analysis and Design of Electronics systems, Communication, Financial Management, Industrial Management.  If you want to go for management, the choice of the branch does not matter. In case you are applying for GATE or GRE, choosing IT or ECE will help.  There are more placement opportunities in IEM than at Heritage Institute Technology. But the Indian IT firms do not differentiate between branches. Sometimes, they don’t even differentiate between degrees like BTech, MCA or MSc too. For securing placement you only need the required skills. However, placements depend on the academic year on which you are passing out, and the industry requirement. IEM has got discipline, punctuality, and strictness when it comes to studies. The college also critically follows a strict dress-code. IEM is getting transparent and does not ask for unnecessary fees. College life at IEM is similar to school life but at the end of four years, you are likely to have a secured job.  Both of these colleges do not offer world-class facilities and teaching. So, don't expect that. There are few good faculties in IEM. The placements are mostly from mass recruiters such as TCS, CTS, Wipro, and Infosys of around 4 LPA packages. Heritage is also a good alternative. But IEM is more reputed among students.Read more
