    B.Sc. Dialysis has been designed to offer eligible candidates a specialization in a wide range of application and technologies involved in the process of dialysis. The course focuses on the treatment of various diseases related to kidney and perform dialysis on patients suffering from kidney failure and require treatment for removing excess waste and fluids from their blood.

    During the course, candidates are educated about various aspects and equipment used in dialysis treatment and are trained to perform various roles from equipment repair and maintenance to water treatment monitoring, to dialyzer reprocessing, vascular access monitoring as well as direct patient care. The students get an in-depth knowledge about the basic anatomy and physiology, dialysis prescription interpretation, safety and sanitation, emergency interventions, and professional standards and ethics.

    B.Sc. Dialysis: Eligibility

    Candidates aspiring to pursue B.Sc. Dialysis are first required to fulfill all the below mentioned criteria, in order to be eligible to apply for the course.

    • A minimum percentage or equivalent aggregate of 55% for general and 50% for SC/ST candidates, is required at the level of 10th & 12th examinations, conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other recognized state board of the country. However, the percentage criterion may vary across institutes.
    • Students should have passed the higher secondary examination (10+2) with science stream, having Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects, with a minimum aggregate of 60% in the mentioned subjects.
    • Diploma Holders who have done diploma after class 10th examination are also eligible to apply for the course.
    • Also, the age of the applicants should not be less than 18 years or more than 23 years.

    B.Sc. Dialysis: Admission Process

    Generally, most of the colleges and institutes providing the course admit candidates on the basis of their marks in the qualifying examination (12th) and a relevant entrance examination, conducted either at the institutional level or State and National Level. A cut-off (minimum marks required to pass) is set for the exams conducted, and students clearing the cut-off are eligible for further rounds (if any).

    Some colleges also conduct a counseling process consisting of two more additional rounds of group discussion and personal interview, wherein candidate’s general aptitude and knowledge for the course is examined by qualified faculty members.
