Ques. Which is better, IIT Hyderabad CSE or IIT Madras EE?

● Top Answer By Samrat Dutta on 22 Jul 21

Ans. Most students who decide to take a particular branch do not end up doing a job that is related to that branch’s core course. Almost everyone is of the opinion that branch over college. Suppose you are not that interested in a specific field, you can think of going for Computer Science Engineering.  In this branch, you will get good placements and a decent job as well.  However, it is possible that you will wind up with a multinational company doing a 9 to 5 job or if you are lucky, a startup. In another case, if you are not thinking of bagging high packages and want to enjoy good college life, you can think of going to IIT Madras.  The college has some decent placements as well as good packages to get you by.  The campus is also really great and you will get to do some co-curricular activities too which is probably not the case with IIT Hyderabad. Categories CSE at IIT Hyderabad EE at IIT Madras Course Fee 8.59 lakh 8.08 lakh Highest CTC 22 LPA 15-19 LPA Average CTC 11 LPA 8-10 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, TCS, IBM, Cognizant, etc. TCS, Phillips, L&T, JP Morgan, etc. IIT Hyderabad is just a cluster of 5 different buildings with empty land around it. Since your question had a general air around it, the answer offers different things you can pursue if you do not have a specific interest.Read more

Ques. What should be preferred, CS at Thapar Patiala or Electrical Engineering at PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Chaudhary on 19 Jul 21

Ans. As these are two distinct branches of engineering, you should pursue a topic that piques your interest.  CS is primarily concerned with software, whereas EE is more concerned with hardware. Fees may be high, but consider it an investment because if you learn and perform well, your first year's salary will pay for four years of education and beyond.  However, listen to your heart and natural instincts. A CS graduate has more demand than an Electrical graduate. This is due to the rapid and constant growth of the corporate world. Electrical Engineering students can also sit for placements of both core and IT firms. Categories CS at Thapar Patiala Electrical at PEC Chandigarh Course Fee 13.23 lakh 6.39 lakh Highest CTC 20 LPA 8-10 LPA Average CTC 11 LPA 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, Infosys, TCS, IBM, etc. Phillips, L&T, JP Morgan, TCS, etc. It all depends on what you're interested in. If you are interested in CS, then choose Thapar (if fees are not an issue) or electrical in PEC Chandigarh.Read more

Ques. How is the electrical branch at NIT Raipur?

● Top Answer By Uzma Zarin on 17 Jul 21

Ans. In comparison to the other options, B.Tech electrical at NIT Raipur is the best. One of my friends studied here. According to him, they have a well maintained electrical department. NIT Raipur has a strong faculty profile and a well-designed course structure. Every year, a large number of companies visited for placement with salary packages ranging from 12 lakhs to 4 lakhs. Because of the good course structure, you can do well in the GATE exam, which is a gateway to higher education. NIT Raipur also organizes various competitions, science exhibitions, robotics workshops, etc. This encourages students to participate and stay involved with it. They offer vocational training and internship opportunities. They may not have a good infrastructure but have an optimistic approach when it comes to academics. NIT Raipur might not be good for students enthusiastic about research studies. Categories Electrical at NIT Raipur Course Fee 5.40 lakh Highest CTC 22 LPA Average CTC 14 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS, Phillips, Havells, L&T, etc. After graduating with electrical engineering you can sit for placements for both core and IT companies. There is scope in the corporate sector too. If you live in Raipur, you can visit the department and speak with Professors such as Prof. Ghosh, Prof. Londe, or Prof. Anamika Yadav. Read more

Ques. What would be better if I am interested in both, EE at NIT Hamirpur or CSE at IIIT Vadodara?

● Top Answer By Ankush Kapoor on 17 Jul 21

Ans. Before selecting among institutes, you should decide which branch to opt for. As per the question asked, you must have an interest in both EE and CSE at the two specified institutes.  The points followed will give certain guidelines, based on which you can come to a conclusion. CSE has a much better placement opportunity in the private sector all over India. But for electrical engineers, there is a good scope in the government sector. Considering the reputation of institutes, NIT Hamirpur is a much better institute than IIIT Vadodara.  In NIT Hamirpur, the alumni base is obviously much stronger than that of IIIT Vadodara.  The campus life too is much better in NIT H. The only disadvantage is its location with no direct access to the city. On the other hand, Vadodara is a well-established city with proper communication to other cities. But, Hamirpur is not as bad a location as Mandi, and so is somewhat accessible. NIT Hamirpur has one of the most beautiful campuses in India. So, the four years of engineering are very spent inside the campus of NIT H. No one regrets being on the campus by any means. Considering the above points, it can be deduced that EE at NIT Hamirpur is a better option, having a better college reputation and good campus life.Read more

Ques. How is IIT Bhubaneswar Electrical as compared to other new IITs like Mandi, Indore, Hyderabad, Ropar, Gandhinagar, Dhanbad etc.?

● Top Answer By Aikantika Roy on 09 Jul 21

Ans. Since my cousin used to be a student of IIT Dhanbad, I might be able to give you some facts about the college which might give you a proper insight. IIT ISM was formerly known as ISM Dhanbad. It boasted of a rich legacy and an equally rich infrastructure which is not true for the newly established IITs.  IIT ISM is technically a new IIT but practically it is not. Because of the IIT tag, IIT Bhubaneswar and a number of other IITs had a very low opening and closing ranks.  IIT ISM initially had a high opening and closing rank. Many candidates did not want to join IIT ISM even after cracking JEE. Many major companies visited the campus of IIT ISM during placements.  The salary package has been going up and the number of companies visiting the campus has also been increasing.  Some of the big names are PSUs namely OIL, MECL, CIL, IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, etc. Categories IIT ISM Course Fee 8.75 lakh Highest CTC 12 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA You can get a good job if you go for IIT ISM, as good as a job you can get from its Bhubaneswar counterpart.Read more
