What is B.Tech (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)?

B.Tech EEE is a 4-year undergraduate degree programme in electrical and electronics Engineering. This course covers various topics about application of electronics, electromagnetism and function of various electrical components to develop new and advanced electrical equipment etc.

Admission to B.Tech Electrical and Electronics program is done through both BTech Entrance examination and merit-based.Most of the  Universities/ Colleges require Candidates to have given any of the applicable Entrance Exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced for B.Tech Electrical and Electronics.

  • Candidates who are applying for the B.Tech Electrical and Electronics program in any Private/ Government Colleges should have their results from the respective Entrance Exams or the result of JEE Main or Advanced required by the selected/opted Universities.

For participating in these entrance exams-

  • Candidates should have to register for the course via online/offline mode. After registration, Fill up the details required in form, Submit all required documents, Pay fees and collect a confirmation letter.
  • After successfully submitting the form candidates can download their admit card before 15 days of the date of exam.
  • Prepare for exams well and after finishing the exam one can get a result within a month. 
  • This result will be required at the time of counselling or college allocation period. One who has qualified this entrance with a good percentile can opt for the best colleges on the basis of JEE Main score.

  • JEE Main: NTA conducts this examination in the month of feb, march, april and may this year. It is an online examination in which a total 100 questions are asked in the paper but students have to solve 75 questions from the topics which they have studied. The pattern of the examination changed this year due to corona pandemic.
  • JEE Advanced: Students having qualified scores in JEE Main can register for the JEE Advanced exam. This examination is mainly held in the month of may, June.
  • KEAM: KEAM 2021 is an annual, state-level entrance exam to undergraduate programs in Engineering in about 150+ institutions in Kerala.This exam will consist of a total of 120 MCQ questions, which have to be attempted in 2 hours and 30 minutes. KEAM 2021 will be held as an offline pen and paper test. 
  • UPSEE: Through UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination), candidates can secure admission in about 841 institutions/colleges affiliated to AKTU along with other universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This exam is conducted via offline mode.

(For example) You can only do one project at the end of the last year in the Anna university program. Here are some of the facts about the same which may help you make your decision.  Electrical and Instrumentation: It is an engineering specialization that is only fixed on the theory of measuring instruments and their operations.  However, its utilization is completely associated with the engineering design along with the automated system configuration in several engineering domains like electrical and pneumatic. Thus, the application is completely industry oriented like an automation process in a few manufacturing and chemical plants.  This engineering specialization’s main goal is to improve reliability, productivity, optimization, safety, and stability.  It deals with the device design in measuring the physical quantities like temperature, pressure, and flow. Thus, a good perception of physics is required to make a complete design of instruments; also some extended knowledge of electromagnetic theory is sometimes required.  Basically, the instrumentation is required for dealing with larger electrical devices in the industry. Electrical and Electronics: In this engineering stream, the student will learn how to design computer systems and electronic circuits and the knowledge of control system development.  Electronics is an important subject for the performance and control of many electrical machines. This course's main focus is completely on the design and testing of inductors, ICs, resistors, and capacitors. Besides, the student will also learn the basics of mathematics, physics, project management, and computer science.  This engineering stream's sub-disciplines consist of Telecommunications, electronics, power, microelectronics, control, and Signal Processing, Instrumentation, and Computers.
