    B.Tech. Electronics Engineering: Eligibility

    For taking admission in B. Tech Electronics Engineering candidate must have passed 10+2 with subjects like mathematics, physics, Chemistry, English as compulsory with minimum 50% marks, from any recognized or affiliated institution. However minimum percentage required in the qualifying exam may vary from institute to institute.

    Some universities ask for Biology also as a compulsory subject in 10+2. Candidates having passed diploma in engineering from any recognized institution can also get admission.

    Lateral Entry

    For lateral entry, a candidate must have passed Diploma course in Engineering &Technology of 3 years duration with minimum 55% marks from any state board.

    B.Tech. Electronics Engineering: Admission Process

    Admissions are generally done through any Entrance Tests conducted at national or state level. However, there are direct admissions also offered by various universities. Following are some top entrance exams on basis of which candidates can get admission in B.Tech Electronics Engineering-

    • JEE Main- It is the most sought after entrance exam for engineering admission. CBSE conducts this exam for admission in NITs, IIITs, and several other government institutes. JEE Main is conducted in April in online and offline mode. JEE Main is also the first step to take JEE Advanced for taking admission in IITs
    • JEE Advanced- It is conducted by IITs, for admissions in their undergraduate courses. It is taken only after qualifying JEE Main. JEE advanced is conducted in May.

    Selection Process

    After taking any of the entrance tests which is recommended for that particular institute in which you are seeking admission, you have to go through the counseling process. A merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in entrance test on basis of which candidates are called for counseling and seats will be allotted.
