Eligibility for B.Tech. in Genetic Engineering

For admission to B.Tech. Genetic Engineering course, the candidate is needed to have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognized Board of education with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects with a minimum aggregate score of 60%. Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Molecular Biology are also eligible to apply.

Ans. ABM, unlike any other B.Tech courses offered by TNAU, is one of the great self-financing courses. It is especially good for people who want to work after graduation because the banks stopped their direct recruitment from the schools a long time ago (see 'Agri-marketing job'). And this four-year course needs a fee of approximately 3 L to 3.5 L excluding food and shelter. Therefore, investment return(ROI) is warranted.  Apart from that, campus life at TNAU is just great. You will definitely have fun. You can develop at a faster pace both personally and professionally. You'll love the brand picture - TNAU.  A friend of mine pursued a BS in Agribusiness Management from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, so I can vouch for the course.  If you want to know about BIT, reach out to the students of the institute. Ans. The Biotech Department of BIT Mesra is average. If you want to join a core company after completing your degree, there are better alternatives. Maximum placement at the institute is in IT and Analytics. Among the companies that visit the campus for pavement, Nestle is the only one that is close to your area of interest.  Here are some other facts that you need to know about the Biotech department.  The department has great faculty and infrastructure. Despite that, you will see many students consulting a lot of books for their course-work, as it is not close to the concept of engineering that they had in mind. As mentioned before, very few core companies visit the campus placement. One of my friends pursued Biotech from BIT Mesra and during her time Biotech students were allowed to sit for only a few consultancies as well.  There are alumni of this institute who secure good off-campus placement offers on their own. So, getting a good job offer depends on your effort. This is a brief picture of BIT Mesra. The final decision is up to you.Read more

Ques. How many marks should one score in the Amity JEE to get admission in Amity University, Noida, for the B.Tech course in biotechnology?

Ans. No one can answer this because none of the colleges mentions the entrance cut off for admission tests in the respective subjects. Besides, they do not even give the student legit scorecards, and the rank is also not mentioned in the selection chart.  The college administration also highlights that the candidate is selected or allotted to the stream that they have chosen at the time of form fill up. It can be mentioned that the candidates are usually allotted as per their preferences. However, there is a scope to change the branch after the result's declaration and if the candidate wants to change his or her stream. Amity University also not mentioned their cut off for Amity JEE to get admission in the B.Tech Biotechnology course. Besides, they also not reject any candidates unless his or her board percentage is less than 55. Amity University mainly follows the following criteria, which has to be fulfilled by the student at the time of form fill up: Course B.Tech (Biotechnology) Study Mode Regular Marking Criteria Merit List of the scorecard of JEE main (Amity JEE is optional, and required if the student do not have JEE main score) Cut Off Range (2018) Upto 111275 (Common Rank List) Actually, the thing is that the college always wants to maintain the confidentiality of their admission procedure, so that no other educational institute could follow them. Ans. B.Tech in Biotechnology from Amity University is really good as it is a NAAC Grade ‘A’ University and approved by AICTE and UGC. Amity University is a fair option if you want to pursue your B.Tech in Biotechnology and the two main reasons are – Course and Faculty. If you do not get into IITs or NITs then Amity can be considered as a good option. Almost all the colleges have the same curriculum and course, the difference lies in the type of placements and opportunities offered by the University. Category Amity University Ranking #162 by NIRF for B.
